March 21 · Brian LamTLDR: If you're looking for that local hole in the wall - this is a great spot. Stick with the soups and definitely get that spicy pork bulgogi aka jaeyuk bokkeum. It's tiny and it's a husband/wife team, so if you're trying to be in/out; not the place for that. I've been back twice and I loved it both times. The dakgaejang (spicy chicken soup) was one of my favorite things. The broth is very flavorful and there's a lot of spice in it. They have some more traditional soups like the black goat or loach. So if you're in a soup and rice mood, this will hit.Definitely get the jaeyuk bokkeum. The way they slice the pork here and stir-fry it with the larger onion dice - it's very unique and just so good.NYC needs more places like this. I will return again for sure and try some of the other items on the menu.
September 23 · Patrick WongA family owned authentic restaurant in flushing. Must try 추어탕 and apparently their summer seasonal menu 도토리묵밥 is also amazing.
August 11 · Hyeyuen CI still don't know what this place is called in English and I don't speak Korean, but it’s like a Korean grandma's house for authentic comforting Korean food. Nothing fancy at all, very low-key but the food is good and reasonably priced! It was packed by lunchtime on a Wednesday. Food takes some time to come out but must visit if you’re in the neighborhood especially on a cold day!
November 15 · Emi TA hidden gem!! This is a no frills, authentic home style korean restaurant. It only has 6 tables and filled with middle aged people who knows how good this place is. Please be gentle with the owners who are the chefs and waiter staff and work nonstop throughout the day. The kitchen is nicely organized and clean. This really is a hidden but authentic place.
