Salsa Rego Park is an excellent choice for New York locals who prioritize authenticity, fresh ingredients, and a casual yet high-quality dining experience. The restaurant's specialization in authentic Neapolitan-style pizza makes it a standout in Queens. Unlike many of the more conventional slice shops found throughout the city, Salsa focuses on the delicate, personal-sized, brick-oven pies with a thin crust and high-quality, minimal toppings, adhering to the traditional standards of Naples.
For those new to Neapolitan pizza, starting with the Margherita ($16.00) is a must—it's the benchmark of the style, perfectly showcasing the fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil. For an experience unique to this restaurant, the Hipsteroni ($21.00) is a highly recommended and popular choice, combining classic pepperoni with a drizzle of spicy honey for a modern, irresistible sweet and spicy profile.
Beyond pizza, the Rigatoni Ricotta & Ragu' ($16.00) offers deeply satisfying Italian comfort food, featuring homemade, slow-cooked beef ragu' and pork sausage over a ricotta bed. For lighter fare, the appetizer options, such as the creamy Burrata Capri ($16.00) and the unique Cocomero Salad ($13.00) with watermelon and pecorino cheese, showcase the kitchen's use of fresh, seasonal, and surprising ingredients.
The restaurant's dual focus on dine-in comfort (with a casual atmosphere and fully accessible amenities) and robust takeout/delivery options, coupled with their reputation for fast service, ensures a positive experience whether you're grabbing lunch, enjoying a family dinner, or simply looking for a quality bite on the go. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We’ve been wanting to try this pizza spot for a while, and it definitely did not disappoint! The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were on point. From the crust to the toppings, everything came together perfectly. Will try the pasta dishes next time. Service was on point.Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
June 02 · Vea CayabaWe went to try salsa, the food was delicious but a little pricey for personal size pizzas, for two pizzas and two drinks it was $50. The restaurant was so cute and vibrant, but was excruciatingly hot on the inside even with the AC on. I will probably come back again, but for takeout only especially with summer months approaching. Overall love the pizza though !
June 07 · Julianna HansenExcellent new Neapolitan pizzeria with very tasty personal pies with thin crust and good quality ingredients. Lunch special is a great deal and interior of restaurant is nice and airy. Love it and will definitely be back.
May 16 · Frank LoncarSo happy to finally have a decent brick oven pizza place near by. Ordered take out and the pizzas were fantastic. Perfect size and beautiful leopard print char on each one. Also recommend the meatballs which were excellent as well as the rigatoni. Prices were reasonable and they have a very generous promotional offer for grand opening this week(free pizza!). I will definitely be coming back.
April 05 · Alessio AsaroGlad to have a new spot in the neighborhood! Came by for dinner today and got the Funghi pie — the pizza was fantastic and a generous portion. For a whole pizza and a soda it was $29 (35 including tip) and I’d say it was well worth it. Service is really speedy, too! I was told they serve slices until 5pm, and they have a handful of great looking lunch specials on weekdays between 12-3pm. I will definitely be back!
