But the experience doesn't end with the wine. The food menu, designed to be shared, is just as inventive and delicious, featuring everything from classic cheese and charcuterie boards to more creative offerings like Seared Flank Steak and a Duck Banh Mi. Ardesia has become a cornerstone of the Hell’s Kitchen community, a place where people can unwind and explore the world of wine in an environment that is both upscale and deeply welcoming. Whether you are a seasoned sommelier or a wine novice, Ardesia promises a memorable and enjoyable journey for your palate.

What is worth choosing
For a New Yorker looking for a wine bar that delivers on both quality and experience, Ardesia is a standout choice. The primary reason to visit this establishment is the sheer quality and curation of its wine list. This is not a place with a generic, predictable menu; it's a place where a sommelier with a passion for her craft has handpicked wines from lesser-known regions and women-led brands, giving you a chance to discover something new and exciting with every visit. This spirit of discovery, combined with the staff's incredible knowledge and willingness to guide you, transforms the act of choosing a glass of wine into a fun and educational journey. Furthermore, the food menu is an essential part of the experience. Reviews consistently highlight the "incredible food" and "phenomenal" dishes like the Patatas Bravas and the Spiced Lamb Skewers. The inventive spirit of the kitchen, as evidenced by items like the "interesting" Portobello Fries and a Cheese & Charcuterie board with standout selections, ensures that the food is a perfect complement to the wine. The atmosphere is another compelling reason to choose Ardesia. It manages to be both "upscale" and "casual," creating a space that feels both special and unpretentious. The cozy, intimate setting is perfect for conversation, and the outdoor patio provides a delightful escape, particularly on a beautiful New York evening. While some may find the prices of certain items, such as the cheese boards, to be on the higher side, the overall experience and quality of the offerings justify the cost. The bar can get crowded, especially during happy hour and peak times, which is why reservations are recommended to ensure you get a seat. In essence, Ardesia is a sophisticated yet approachable gem. It’s a place that caters to wine enthusiasts, but also warmly welcomes novices, making it a perfect spot for a romantic outing or a relaxed get-together with friends. It’s not just about the wine; it’s about the entire experience—from the helpful recommendations to the delicious small plates and the inviting atmosphere—that makes Ardesia a truly worthwhile destination in Hell's Kitchen.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I absolutely love this place. It was my second time there, a dear friend loves it, so when we got together, we stopped by. The food is incredible. I had lamb skewers and tacos, I think my friend had a cheese plate. Sorry, I don't know what wine I had because my friend is a sommelier so she does choosing. I do the drinking. 🤣🤣 but the wine was delicious. I had white.
March 12 · malcolm lowArdesia boasts an impressive wine selection, which I absolutely loved! The servers were incredibly helpful with their recommendations, making the experience even more enjoyable.I tried their charcuterie board, which was quite good. I especially loved the mortadella--it stood out more than the prosciutto. The blue cheese was creamy and decent, though not particularly memorable. One funny mishap: I accidentally ordered the portobello mushroom fries, thinking they were regular fries with mushroom sauce. Instead, they were actual fried portobello mushrooms! While not what I expected, they were interesting. I later ordered the patatas bravas, and they were phenomenal--the sauce was flavorful and absolutely delicious.I highly recommend this spot for wine enthusiasts. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a laid-back evening.
June 06 · Jamie LNice wine bar with varied by the glass options and knowledgeable friendly staff. Nice cocktail options as well. Very comfortable bar seating. Food was tasty but nothing outstanding. I would definitely come back again, its a great solid option if you want some wine or cocktails with some light food. Shrimp was tasty. Lamb skewers were not overly flavorful. Pretzel was a little lacking. Meat/cheese board was a little pricey for the amount but it was all very good.
February 27 · Kathy DLovely place both inside and outside, great selection of wines including from places like Armenia which isn't usually easy to find. Super friendly service. All in all - wonderful place for a glass of wine & some accompanying food
