Artichoke Basille's Pizza Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In a city where pizza is a way of life, Artichoke Basille's Pizza has carved out a distinct and often debated niche for itself. Located at 18 Wyckoff Ave in Brooklyn, this establishment is a far cry from the classic, foldable New York slice joint. Instead, it offers a much heavier, more decadent, and generously topped style of pizza that has become a sensation and a local specialty. The name itself, "Artichoke," refers to its most famous creation: a creamy, rich slice topped with artichoke hearts, spinach, and a blend of cheeses that is more of a meal than a simple snack. This unique offering, along with other inventive pies like the "Crab Pie" and "Staten Island Pie," makes it a destination for those looking for a different kind of pizza experience. The atmosphere is that of a casual, cozy, and trendy bar and restaurant, making it a popular spot for college students, groups, and even tourists looking for a taste of something famously New York. The business's success is rooted in its bold flavors and generous portions, which are often described as filling enough that a single slice can be a full meal. Beyond the pies, the menu includes other hearty, comfort-food items and a full bar, which helps to create a lively and welcoming environment. It is a place that inspires strong opinions, with some calling it the best pizza in Brooklyn and others finding its style too much. This very debate is a part of its identity, cementing its status as a must-try for any true pizza aficionado in the city.

What is worth choosing
Choosing Artichoke Basille's Pizza is a quintessential New York experience, especially for those looking to go beyond the traditional thin-crust slice. The reason it's worth a visit is for its audacity and originality. While the city is filled with classic pizzerias, this place offers something entirely different—a rich, indulgent, and unapologetically heavy slice of comfort food. The famous Artichoke slice, with its creamy sauce and savory toppings, is the main draw and a bucket-list item for many. However, the experience doesn't stop there. The "Staten Island Pie" offers a unique blend of meatballs, red onions, and ricotta, showcasing a different regional style that is well-loved. The generous portion sizes are a significant value proposition, as a single slice can be as satisfying as a full pie from elsewhere. The casual and trendy bar setting, along with late-night hours, makes it a perfect stop for a post-show or post-work gathering with friends. While some reviews mention mixed experiences with delivery, ordering directly from the restaurant or dining in offers the best chance to experience the food at its freshest, which is a common theme with this style of pizza. The fact that it's a place for groups and solo diners, offers a bar, and serves late into the night, makes it a highly convenient and flexible option for a night out in Brooklyn. It's not just a meal; it's a part of the city's food culture, and for a local, that's what makes it a must-try.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I ordered a quick lunch from this spot through Uber Eats and went with two slices: a Margherita and a Sicilian-style vodka pepperoni. Both arrived warm and fresh, each offering a very different experience. The Margherita was simple yet comforting—thin, crunchy crust with a pure marinara base, fresh basil, and high-quality mozzarella. The Sicilian slice, on the other hand, had a thicker, square-cut crust with a rich vodka sauce carrying a hint of garlic, topped with pepperoni and basil. The flavors were bold, and the cheese quality stood out in both slices.Portion-wise, the slices are generous—two were almost too much for lunch, and honestly, even one could be filling. Overall, this is some of the best pizza I’ve had in Brooklyn, especially if you’re just looking for a solid slice.
September 06 · Debisree RayMediocre at best and I’m always open minded. This is a takeout spot where social media hyped up to more than really deserved. Don’t get me wrong. The pizza is not bad, it’s just not great..Service is very good and friendly but hard to justify the six dollar slice.
March 23 · Jesse YuanWe tried the Staten Island, Atichoke, plain cheese and Sicilian....every last one was delicious!! Friendly and welcoming environment and staff. Great vibes all around. Our family had an great time. Thank you!
August 10 · ChrisI’ve always loved the classic artichoke slice — it’s very creamy. Lately though, it’s been a bit too salty for my liking. This time, I went with the meatball parm slice and it was easily one of my favorites. I also tried the pepperoni vodka, which comes as a thick square slice. The crust was dense and filling, but overall it didn’t really stand out for me.One thing I do appreciate is that they’re open late, until 4am. That said, there’s usually a long line and the small ordering window makes things feel pretty chaotic — especially on busy nights.
July 12 · Jamie LExtremely good Pizza, I´m a big pizza fan, LOVED this place.Basically: tasted increeeedible and had 3 completely notable different crust densities which you could feel and enjoy as hell.Place by itself it´s just alright, food amazing.Make sure you try the Artichoke Pizza (the left one on the picture).
