Chinato Introduce
In the vibrant and ever-evolving bar scene of New York City, certain spots emerge as true destinations for those "in the know." Chinato, nestled on Stanton Street in the Lower East Side, is one such place. This is not your typical neighborhood watering hole; it is a meticulously crafted cocktail bar that offers a truly unique and immersive experience. The name itself is a clever nod to the bittersweet Italian fortified wine, Barolo Chinato, while also representing the owner's journey from "China-to" New York. This dual inspiration is at the heart of the bar's identity, blending classic cocktail techniques with inventive Asian-inspired flavors.
The atmosphere at Chinato is a perfect blend of cozy and trendy, making it feel both intimate and sophisticated. The centerpiece of the space is a striking island-style bar with no front or back. This unconventional layout is designed to bring guests closer to the bartenders, offering a front-row seat to the art of cocktail making. Patrons can watch the shaking and stirring magic unfold from every angle, creating an interactive and engaging experience that is a far cry from a standard bar setup. The bartenders themselves are highly knowledgeable and are celebrated for their dedication to research and development, constantly pushing the boundaries of what a cocktail can be.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A real if you know you know spot. Frequently spotting some of the best folk in the Industry hanging out here. The center island bar bring you closer to the bartenders, all of them are sooooo knowledgeable and they go hard on the R&D! Seasonal menu, unique drinks. Truly one of the kind cocktail program.
August 17 · Qi-Rosa ZhangThe drinks are excellent. A personal favorite was easily the Grey Luh, possibly one of the best pandan drinks I've ever had. The Rum and Coco Cola was also fun and refreshing. The atmosphere itself is a good blend of casual but also intimate. Would recommend for groups of 2-4 if you're in the area.
May 25 · Khoi PhamThe crew at this place is so welcoming and knowledgeable with their menu items. Tyler was serving drinks this evening, along with his peers, and absolutely knocked it out of the park. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and atmosphere to enjoy some very unique cocktails. Must stop if you’re in the area!
March 23 · Alex HerndonOrdered a "Tequila" and it did not disappoint. The flavor profile was interesting and the staff had enough time to chat. Vibes were good, although the cool temperature lighting made the place feel quite sterile. Would go back again!
July 21 · Justin KwongI really enjoyed the drinks. We didn’t have a reservation but they seated us almost immediately. Cozy seating and very intimate with low lights.
