Dragon Sushi Introduce
For New Yorkers on the go who are craving a quick and simple sushi fix, Dragon Sushi offers a convenient and accessible option. Situated on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, this Japanese restaurant is known for its focus on takeout and quick service, catering to the fast-paced lifestyle of the city. While it may not be a destination for a long, leisurely dining experience, it serves its purpose as a reliable spot for a satisfying and easy meal. The ability to grab your favorite rolls and head out makes it a popular choice for those looking to satisfy their sushi cravings without a long wait. The restaurant鈥檚 straightforward approach is a key part of its appeal, providing a no-fuss solution for a quick and delicious meal.
Dragon Sushi is a place that many locals turn to for their sushi cravings. The menu features a variety of classic sushi rolls and other Japanese dishes, offering a selection that can satisfy a range of tastes. From the popular Philadelphia roll and salmon avocado roll to a sushi deluxe platter, the options are varied enough for a regular rotation. A key aspect of the dining experience here is the transparency; customers can see how their sushi is being prepared, a feature that provides a sense of freshness and authenticity. The focus on takeout is a major part of the business model, with many customers using platforms like DoorDash for their orders. This emphasis on convenience and speed makes it a go-to spot for those who want their sushi fix delivered right to their door. While some patrons have noted that the sushi pieces can be on the smaller side, they are often praised for being fresh and delicious, living up to the craving-busting reputation.
However, it is important for potential diners to be aware of the range of experiences reported by customers. While many find the food and service to be perfectly acceptable for a quick bite, others have raised serious concerns. One review, in particular, highlighted a disturbing finding of a small metal scrap in a sushi roll. The customer reported that after finding what appeared to be a piece of steel wool, they were disgusted and called the restaurant. While a refund was eventually given, the customer noted a lack of apology or remorse from the staff. This incident, combined with other comments about the freshness and quality being inconsistent, suggests that the experience at Dragon Sushi can be hit or miss. It is a reminder that while the convenience and price point may be appealing, it is always wise to be cautious and to consider a range of reviews before making a decision. For those who have had positive experiences, Dragon Sushi is a reliable spot, but for others, the potential for a negative outcome is a serious concern.

---### What is worth choosing
Choosing Dragon Sushi is a decision for those in New York who prioritize convenience and affordability above all else. What makes this spot worth choosing is its role as a quick-fix solution for sushi cravings. In a city where fast and easy meals are often a necessity, Dragon Sushi excels in its takeout and delivery services. For a relatively low price, you can get a variety of rolls that, according to some customers, are fresh and delicious. The fact that the restaurant is "definitely" able to satisfy a sushi craving speaks to its primary function as a reliable spot for a quick bite. The taste of the food is generally well-received, and the selection of rolls is typical of a neighborhood sushi place, making it a comfortable and familiar choice for many. The ability to see the sushi being made is also a positive for those who opt to dine in, providing a sense of transparency and trust in the preparation process.
However, it is crucial to approach this establishment with a degree of caution. The reported discovery of a metal scrap in a sushi roll is a serious concern that cannot be overlooked. This raises significant questions about hygiene and quality control, which are paramount when dealing with raw fish. The customer's experience of a lack of remorse from the restaurant staff is also a red flag regarding their customer service and commitment to resolving potentially dangerous situations. This incident stands in stark contrast to the positive reviews and highlights a potential for a "bad experience or harm," as the customer put it. For many, a single instance of such a grave issue is enough to reconsider a visit, regardless of the convenience or price. While some patrons have had consistently good experiences, the potential for inconsistency in both food quality and service is a serious consideration. For those who are willing to take a chance, the rewards may be a quick and satisfying meal, but it comes with a noted risk.
Ultimately, what is worth choosing about Dragon Sushi is its utility as a quick and affordable option for a sushi meal. It's a place for a no-frills, get-in-get-out kind of experience that fits the New York lifestyle. However, due to the serious negative feedback from a customer about a potential health hazard, it is not a place that can be wholeheartedly recommended without a strong caveat. It serves a specific purpose for a specific type of customer who values speed and price over a more reliable, high-quality, or guaranteed safe dining experience. For a simple and quick bite, it may be a decent option, but for those who prioritize safety, consistent quality, and excellent customer service, it may be wise to look elsewhere. The choice rests on the individual's comfort with taking a risk for the sake of convenience and price.

September 15 路 Mark Nowell馃毃馃毃CAUTION!!! Small metal scraps found in sushi from this place! (steel wool)!!!I rarely leave negative reviews unless it could potentially help people to prevent them from a bad experience or harm. This is the first time this has ever happened to me and I eat sushi all the time.I ordered a spicy salmon roll and other things from Dragon sushi and as I was biting into a piece I felt something sharp in my mouth. Thinking it was just a small fish bone, I pulled it out of my mouth to see a piece of metal!!! After my friend and I looked at it closely we confirmed that it was steel wool. I was absolutely disgusted and furious that I almost swallowed that.Restaurants using steel wool to clean in kitchen & food preparation areas in NYC are a health code violation, because it breaks apart easily and can get into food! The thought of something that was being used to clean dirty areas getting into my food is absolutely sickening and I am so disappointed.I called the restaurant and asked for a refund and explained what happened and they refunded me the next day but I had to pick it up in person because they could only give it in cash. They did not apologize or seem remorseful at all.Be careful getting food here, the sushi here is also not very fresh or good quality.
June 05 路 AP21I know that this is a chain so this review isn鈥檛 indicative of other locations, just this one specifically. If you place an order with raw sushi which needs to be refrigerated, and hot meals - they will pack it for delivery or pick up in the same bag with no cardboard separating or anything. It only took my delivery guy 10 mins to go from the store to my apartment and when I got my sushi, the raw fish was warm like it was sitting in the sun all day because it was sitting directly on top of a hot entree, slowly cooking in the bag. That is how people get sick. Avoid this place at all costs.
June 13 路 Christopher VolpeSpent $100 on sushi delivery and didn鈥檛 get any napkins or utensils/chop sticks? It鈥檚 all I can eat at the moment and I鈥檓 ordering it every day. I鈥檒l go elsewhere. Plenty of other places in the city.
August 25 路 Heather TaylorTypical hood Chinese spot that serves Sushi, the workers act like they鈥檙e doing you the favor. The lady at the register is extremely rude and they treat the delivery staff like caca. There is absolutely no dine in, as for the sushi, ehhh what can I say, It was ok, priced. Taste ehhhh. Definitely not going back.馃し馃徎鈥嶁檪锔廝sst: they are definitely serving fraudulent fishDont forget to thumbsup 馃憤馃徎 my review !
