Lucky Star Introduce
Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant, located in the vibrant and essential Brooklyn neighborhood of the 11212 ZIP code, has established itself as a reliable destination for classic, hearty Chinese-American cuisine. Known for catering to local tastes with generous portions and a menu packed with familiar favorites, this spot is more than just a local eatery; it's a go-to for many New Yorkers seeking comfort food for lunch, dinner, or a quick late-night bite.
The restaurant's core identity revolves around providing quick, satisfying meals through a mix of takeout, delivery, and casual dine-in options. While the atmosphere is described as casual and sometimes trendy, the primary focus for many customers is the convenience and breadth of the menu, making it a staple in the local food scene, especially for those in Brownsville and the surrounding areas of East Brooklyn who rely on neighborhood Chinese spots.
This institution successfully blends the traditional takeout model with a surprising array of specialty dishes, ensuring that whether you’re looking for a quick fix on your way home or planning a larger gathering, Lucky Star has a tray or platter ready to meet your needs. In a city where Chinese food is a local cornerstone, Lucky Star maintains its presence by offering a diverse selection that covers all the bases—from vegetarian options to an extensive seafood menu.
The diverse menu reflects the demand of the New York diner—options must be plentiful, catering to individual cravings and larger family meals alike. From their dedicated lunch specials that help power Brooklynites through the workday to impressive party trays designed for large events, Lucky Star is clearly organized to serve a high volume of local residents with speed and consistency. While customer reviews offer a mixed perspective, pointing to occasional inconsistencies in flavor and service elements like hot sauce costs, the business continues to thrive by focusing on convenience and a comprehensive, accessible menu.
It is worth noting that the restaurant is quite popular, particularly during peak dining hours, meaning customers should anticipate that there might be a wait, especially for dine-in or delivery during dinner time. This popularity further cements its status as a significant local spot in the neighborhood's culinary landscape, a place where the community gathers for reliable meals.
Lucky Star also addresses the modern dining scene by offering late-night options, proving its commitment to convenience. For New Yorkers who keep late hours, knowing a place can deliver a satisfying meal past the typical dinner rush is a considerable benefit and a key part of its local appeal.
Ultimately, Lucky Star stands as an authentic slice of neighborhood Brooklyn dining, where the focus is on robust flavor, dependable comfort food, and ensuring customers have a wide array of options to choose from, whether they are a solo diner grabbing a quick lunch or a host ordering a large party tray.

What is Worth Choosing at Lucky Star?
For local New Yorkers exploring the menu at Lucky Star, several categories and specific dishes truly set this establishment apart, making them highly worthwhile choices. The restaurant excels by offering classic Chinese-American staples while also catering to specific cravings, particularly in the realm of seafood and party food.
If you are planning an office lunch, a casual weeknight dinner, or a quick meal on your own, the Lunch Special menu is a definite highlight. It offers excellent value and variety, ensuring a full, satisfying meal without breaking the bank. Choosing a classic like General Tso's Chicken or the Pepper Steak W. Onion from this section is a dependable choice that many New Yorkers seek from their local spot. The sheer variety ensures that you can enjoy a different dish every day of the workweek.
The most unique and compelling reason to choose Lucky Star is its comprehensive Seafood Menu. Unlike many smaller local Chinese takeout spots that focus mainly on poultry and beef, Lucky Star dedicates significant space to a selection of fresh preparations. The Snow Crab Legs, available with the option of adding Old Bay seasoning, present an affordable way to enjoy this delicacy, particularly in their Party Tray sizes. While the restaurant notes that these are not the largest clusters, the two-cluster or three-cluster portions for $6.00 and $10.00, respectively, provide a great taste of seafood that is uncommon for a typical neighborhood Chinese eatery. Additionally, the availability of Whole Lobster and Lobster Tail elevates the dining experience beyond quick takeout, offering a luxurious option for a casual meal at home.
Furthermore, for those hosting a party or a large family gathering in Brooklyn, the Party Tray options are invaluable. This service simplifies catering by providing bulk orders of crowd-pleasers like Fried Chicken Wings and B.B.Q Spare Rib Tips. These trays are perfectly tailored to the needs of a busy household or event, ensuring that classic appetizers and sides are covered with minimal effort.
For new patrons, starting with the favorites from the "New Special" menu, like the Fried Cheese Wonton, is a good way to test the restaurant's approach to appetizers. While some reviews mention mixed experiences with certain items, the consistent availability of comfort food, the impressive seafood selection, and the value of the lunch and party menus make Lucky Star a vital and worthy choice in the Brownsville dining landscape.

October 08 · Jamie O'NeillSnow Crab legs are steamed basic with the option to add old bay. Each cluster is the size of the palm of your hand. Party Tray pan includes six clusters for $27.00. Two clusters for $6.00. Three clusters for $10.00. Please note that these are not the big snow crab legs.
April 27 · Money GordonThis place is buns. When does Konata show up?
July 10 · Valentino AsanovskiThis was by far the worst dam food I ever had in my life at age 45 my kids didn't even like it we order simple wings n rice it was terrible terrible terrible
December 24 · Toya CapriceStaff is rude, barely listens when you ask for extras that you're willing to pay for ex: extra butter for seafood dish, probably use to people wanting extra for free, every customer is not the same. Played entirely too much with customers they knew/familiar with. It's also true delivery person doesn't want to get out of vehicle, sits there looking at you, until I wave come on, or else I'm about to go back into my house & cancel that order. When calling them on the phone, you feel rushed, in which they have lost money with me, because I just said, never mind, forget it. The last time, I patronized this establishment in person, I just got up, left the order and never came back. I gave this restaurant multiple times a chance to see if they were just having a bad day, or was this their common operation practices and it seems this was their common practice.
