The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, with a focus squarely on the food itself. It's the kind of place where people come to enjoy a hearty, home-cooked meal without any frills. The extensive menu showcases a variety of dishes that are a testament to the rich culinary heritage of the Fuzhou region, offering a taste of tradition that is both comforting and deeply satisfying.
The appeal of New Arping lies in its dedication to serving fresh, delicious, and incredibly budget-friendly meals. Many of the dishes are priced at $10 or less, making it one of the most affordable spots in the area for a complete and filling meal. Patrons frequently highlight the authenticity of the food, describing it as "as good as home cooked." While the decor may be basic, the flavors are anything but. The menu features an impressive variety of noodle soups, with an array of choices for your noodle type and toppings, including sliced pork, beef, lamb, and a range of seafood. Unique dishes like Lychee Pork and Fuzhou Style Spare Ribs showcase the sweet and savory notes of the cuisine. The restaurant is a go-to for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering to a diverse crowd of locals who frequent the establishment, some even on a daily basis. The quick service and generous portions ensure that whether you're dining solo or with a group, you'll leave feeling full and satisfied.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Ordered duck soup but it was just cut up bones, very little meat and the noodles and broth were very flavorless. The dumplings were decent.
August 30 · Theodore RaelMy go-to fujianese spot in Manhattan Chinatown. Probs the most extensive fujianese menu in the area w food served as good as home cooked. I loved that they actually bother putting vegs, much more balanced meal than almost all other takeout spots. Super affordable, basically everything is ~$10 or lessI come here at least once a week, at times everyday.
April 20 · Jammy JamsVery authentic Fuzhou comfort food served in basic settings. Everything is served in dsiposable plates or cups, but everything we have tried is so delicious! The stir fried snow pea shoots were very tender and full of flavor. Fish ball soup was piping hot and had about ten fish balls (for only $3). The Fuzhou style spare ribs were deep fried with chunks of taro in a sweet and sour sauce. The veggies in the pork fried rice noodles ($5) were just a tad bitter, which was perfect for the dish. For sure this food has more subtle flavor than say sichuan cuisine, but still outstanding in its own way. Five stars.
July 17 · Wen-Chun FanAuthentic Fujianese food that truly attracts local Fujianese diners. The few that remain in Chinatown.
November 11 · Bo WangAuthentic little eatery with incredible prices and super tasty food. Very much no frills but the soups are amazing.
