moshava cafe
In the vibrant and artistic landscape of New York City, finding a coffee shop that feels like a true oasis is a rare and welcome discovery. Moshava Coffee, nestled in a charming, renovated West Village townhouse at 47 W 8th St, is just such a place. It's more than a spot to grab a caffeine fix; it’s a thoughtfully designed space that caters to both the hurried professional and the leisure-seeking local. With its unique two-story layout, Moshava Coffee offers a distinct experience that sets it apart from the city's many other cafes.
The atmosphere at Moshava Coffee is a perfect blend of casual, cozy, and trendy. The two-tiered design is a genius touch, with a dedicated "working area" upstairs where laptops are welcome, and a separate downstairs area for those who want to relax and chat without the distraction of screens. This separation of spaces creates a harmonious environment, as one reviewer noted, making it "the perfect cafe to work or catch up with a friend." The interior, with its "lots of charm" and comfortable seating, including a "comfy sofa" and a unique "bookshelf corner," is designed to make you feel right at home and encourage you to linger.
The quality of the beverages at Moshava Coffee is a key highlight. The shop is celebrated for its "great coffee" and an equally impressive "great tea selection." Whether you're in the mood for a classic espresso drink or a specialty latte, the menu has something to satisfy every palate. In addition to beverages, Moshava offers a selection of pastries, including "scones, croissants, loafs, and muffins," perfect for a light snack to accompany your drink. The prices are also noted for being "great," providing excellent value in an expensive neighborhood.
The staff at Moshava Coffee are a significant part of what makes the experience so enjoyable. They are described as "super friendly and welcoming," creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. This kind of personal touch makes customers feel "right at home" and is a major reason why they "loved the concept" and plan on returning. The entire vibe is modern, warm, and thoughtfully designed to make you "want to stay longer."

June 19 · Maria YuMoshava Coffee is more than just a café—it’s an experience. Spacious, cozy seating (yes, even a comfy sofa!), and a bookshelf corner that makes the vibe truly unique. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes you feel right at home. I loved the concept—it’s modern, warm, and designed to make you want to stay longer. Definitely coming back. ☕📚✨
August 25 · Alexander OrtizThis café has quickly become my go-to spot as a student. It strikes the perfect balance of comfort, calm, and affordability — something that’s rare to find in NYC. The lattes are delicious and reasonably priced (unlike most other places in the city), and you genuinely feel valued just by the peaceful atmosphere and the way the staff treats you. They even remember your name. The pastries taste fresh — not like they’ve been sitting in plastic wrap all day — and the layout of the space is thoughtfully designed. Downstairs is great for light chatting with soft music in the background, while the upstairs area is quiet and ideal for focusing on work. Whether you’re meeting a friend or diving into assignments, this place just works. Always recommending it!
May 21 · AshleyBeautiful place to work and sip some coffee. Second floor is for laptops- wifi code is valid for 2 hours. The staff are super nice and the whole place is just very cozy and homemade vibes. Will say the coffee is pretty good and cheap for New York, and they have some sweets that looked amazing. Would love for them to be open later than 4:30 pm though.
February 19 · Valentina PatarroyoChai latte was kind of watered down. there are bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs. But the WiFi was confusing to access, you need to ask one of the baristas for the access code, and they give it to you on a slip of paper. Luckily the drinks are cheap at around $4.
