★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I order a family meal via ubereats and pretty disappointed. Came with meat (we did a mix of chicken and gyro), rice, salad, pita bread and dessert. It came out to be around $50. For the portion, it would be cheaper to get individual platters. The meat didn't taste as good as the one in manhattan and I found a piece of a glove in my salad... That being said I will not order from here again.
January 04 · A CFass time order from Uber Eats , Halal Guys at LGA / LIC locationAnd my gyro was so small ever dow I paid for regular sizeAnd meat was also totally defrent then 53st halal guysNext time any one order onlineDon't expect like 53st & 6th Ave Gyro will same
June 06 · Forhad RoniThere is a Halal Guys’ food cart in front of B building of LAGCC. I love their Hala flavor more than others.their chicken meats are juicy. Love it ! And also, I am a student of LAGCC, so I can get a free soda with platter. The guy who works there is always nice to us!
December 07 · michelle CI waited on line in the cold and rain as New Yorkers do … only when my turn came (last one in line of 3 people ) he turns his back to me takes this random fat guys order who was standing off to the side …(perhaps a regular) . not the place to eat if ur trying to get to class or out of the rain or catch your train. The other reviews about the food were not so good so perhaps it was kismet what happened to protect me . I didn’t buy any food after that . I don’t like giving rude people my business . I just went to HALAL MUNCHIES JUST 2 blocks down and got myself HUGE a chicken gyro with French fries and the best side salad(actually has dressing not just huge chunks of tomato and lettuce like halal guys) . Salad included in halal munchies doesn’t effect ur portions because plates are sectioned for main and sides . Fries are so good at HALAL MUNCHIES 2 blocks down too.FRIES included too. It’s so much better than this cart that sadly just knows some students or unknowing victims will be forced to buy out of necessity because of their location. If u have to get from a food truck I love the empanada cart the man and woman are always sooo nice , quick and I never have to ask for a napkin because I guess they assume I’ll need one if I have sauce .
March 28 · Jenny FromI stopped by the other day for a lamb gyro. The service was good, and I like the location - an old garage/shop converted into a food establishment just off the Queensboro Bridge. The place was almost empty except for a Robocop-looking food delivery guy waiting frantically for his order. What I did NOT like was the food. The pita was undercooked, stale, and bland. I took a small bite of the pita, and it tasted like styrofoam. The lamb was okay, but there was so little of it that it barely teased my tongue and palate. The white sauce came in a plastic packet - not a good sign - and it was gooey and flavorless . What happeed to the original, home-made sauce served at the food cart on 53rd Street in Manhattan back in the day? As for the price, I plunked down $18 and change for said gyro and a small plastic bottle of Coke. Sadly, in light of the whole experience, I feel that I was taken for a major ride...I am writing this review (I had seen a few negative reviews of the place beforehand) as a headsup to Management. It is time for you, the Halal Guys, to step up to the plate (pun intended) and up your game. New York is a very competitive place food-wise, and if you want to stay in the business of food making, you should focus on the food you make and serve. Make a trip to Doner Kebab places, stop by a Pakistani mom and pop restaurant or grab a bite at a Turkish food truck to see what a real lamb gyro should taste like. If you want to conquer the world, that's fine, but don't forget where you came from. As of now, you've lost the trees for the forest.
