Cafe LaLa Introduce
Nestled in the heart of Palisades Park, New Jersey, Cafe LaLa is a local gem that offers a truly unique coffee shop experience. It’s more than just a place to grab a quick coffee; it’s a destination where the rich tradition of European cafe culture meets the vibrant and delicious flavors of Korea. For those in the New Jersey area looking for a cozy, welcoming spot that feels like a hidden treasure, Cafe LaLa provides an atmosphere that is both trendy and comforting.
Unlike many of the larger, bustling bakeries and cafes in the area, Cafe LaLa stands out for its serene and cozy ambiance. The interior is thoughtfully decorated with small, charming details that suggest a great deal of care and spirit went into its creation. From the props to the utensils, everything seems to contribute to a sense of a quiet, peaceful retreat. This makes it an ideal spot for those who want to escape the noise, whether you’re looking to get some work done on your laptop, enjoy a quiet chat with a friend, or simply find a moment of solitude with a good book and a warm drink.
The unique charm extends to the staff as well. While some first-time visitors might perceive the service as a bit reserved or "tsundere"—a Japanese term for a character who is initially aloof but later shows a warm, caring side—regulars know the truth. The owner and staff have a subtle way of looking after their customers, a caring presence that becomes an endearing part of the experience. It’s a type of service that, for many, becomes a reason to return, turning first-timers into loyal patrons who eagerly anticipate their next visit. This distinctive, personal touch is a testament to the cafe’s authentic, soul-driven approach to business.
Cafe LaLa is a place that feels deeply personal, as if the owner has poured their heart and soul into every aspect of the space. This is reflected not only in the decor but also in the high quality of the food and beverages. It’s the kind of place that many locals feel they have been searching for, a quiet haven where everything, from the food to the atmosphere, is meticulously crafted for a perfect experience.

Features and Highlights:
- Great coffee: The coffee menu is extensive, offering everything from classic brewed coffee and Americano to more specialty drinks. The Einspanner, a Viennese coffee topped with a thick, rich layer of whipped cream, is a must-try. This drink, which has found a new life in Korean-style cafes, offers a perfect balance of strong espresso and cool, creamy topping.
- Great dessert: The homemade desserts are a standout. The Basque Cheesecake is a rich and decadent option, and the Chiffon Cake is known for its incredible lightness. The madeleines—in Original, Sweet Potato (Go Gu Ma), and Red Bean flavors—are freshly made every morning and are a perfect accompaniment to any drink. The mini cakes, including Oreo, Blueberry, Matcha, and Rose Strawberry, are also incredibly popular.
- Great tea selection: For tea lovers, the selection includes a variety of high-quality teas like Eternal Summer, Silver Moon, Chamomile, and Marco Polo, providing a refreshing alternative to coffee.
- Unique brunch and food items: The food menu offers a variety of delicious items for any meal. The Korean-style gimbap is a particular favorite among regulars, while the ciabatta sandwiches, like the Lala Toast and Sunny Garlic Mayo, provide a hearty and flavorful start to the day. The Avocado Toast and K-Toast (Korean-style French toast) are also popular choices.
- Specialty drinks: Beyond the classics, Cafe LaLa features an exciting list of specialty iced-only drinks, such as the Summer Latte with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, the Pistachio Cream Latte, and the Dalgona Latte. For those who enjoy something fruity and sparkling, the Ade menu offers unique options like Yuja Ade, Real Strawberry Ade, and Yakult Strawberry Ade.
What is Worth Choosing:
Cafe LaLa offers more than just food and drinks; it provides a distinct cultural and sensory experience. For those seeking something truly special, the "worth choosing" items are those that reflect the cafe's unique fusion of cultures. The Einspanner is a prime example; this Viennese coffee, popular in the modern Korean cafe scene, is a creamy, layered delight that you won't find at just any cafe. Another is the Korean-style gimbap, a savory and satisfying option that offers a taste of authentic Korean cuisine. The homemade madeleines, especially the Sweet Potato and Red Bean versions, are simple yet perfect representations of the cafe’s dedication to fresh, handcrafted quality. And, according to loyal customers, the cheesecake is an absolute must-try.
The atmosphere itself is a key highlight. The fact that it is a relatively quiet and peaceful space in a busy area makes it a valuable spot for working or relaxing. The “tsundere” service style, while perhaps a surprise at first, becomes a part of the cafe's unique charm, making a visit feel more like an inside joke among friends than a standard transaction. Ultimately, what is most worth choosing at Cafe LaLa is the entire experience—the quiet, cozy setting, the thoughtful, delicious menu, and the subtly caring staff. It’s a place that invites you to slow down and savor the moment, a true hidden gem for anyone in New Jersey looking for an authentic and memorable cafe visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Cafe Lala is a must-visit spot, especially in the morning, when they serve their own unique version of Korean gimbap. On top of that, they offer drinks and treats you won’t easily find at other cafés.Their signature flavored coffees are always excellent, and my personal favorites are the Einspänner, grapefruit slush, and fresh strawberry milk — all absolutely delicious. And whatever you do, don’t skip the cheesecake. It’s a must-try!At first, the staff’s manner might come across as a little curt, but regulars know the truth: the owner and staff are total tsundere types. They may not show it openly, but they have a subtle, caring way of looking after you — and it’s oddly addictive. I’ve grown to love it so much that I actually look forward to it now.So don’t misunderstand — give it a few visits. By the third time, you’ll probably find yourself hooked on that unique “tsundere” service too.
August 30 · Tony KThis place is a local hidden gem. There isn’t shortage of mega bakeries and Korean cafes in Fort Lee and Palisades Park. But to me, this place stands out.It looks like the owner of this cafe put his/her soul and spirit into everything in the cafe. From little interior props to utensils to home made madeleines. All beverages and the food, even boiled eggs and spicy kimbop, were super tasty. And the best : this place is relatively quiet. I’ve been longing for a cafe like this for a long time. I will be a frequent visitor.
May 27 · Richard YuThis is one of my favorite cafes!I live about half an hour away but drive all the way here with my kids often because their drinks and desserts are unique. They have the best einspanners(many fun varieties), ades, and small bites. My favorites are the grapefruit slush and their mini kimbap and egg sandwiches. They also sell bottled strawberry and chocolate milk along with black tea milk and coffee milk-all so delicious. They have parking in front and back, and spacious areas to sit inside. Bathroom is also big and clean! Go and check them out!
August 30 · Rosa SonThis is my new favorite café in NJ! Their Dolce Latte is absolutely the best — I’ve been wanting to try it ever since I saw it on the Starbucks Korea menu (which we don’t get here in the States), and I finally found it at this gem of a place.I also tried their Lala Toast, spicy tuna kimbap, and egg sandwich — everything was spot on and so delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and cute, and the whole café is very clean and well maintained. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular here!Oh and the grapefruit slushhhhhh!!!!!!It's the bestest 😍 💕 💛 💓
August 30 · JinnyThis place? Absolute winner. My kids are obsessed with the Daejibar(?) Einspanner (can you blame them?) and I’m loyal to the Black Sesame Einspanner it’s just too good to cheat on.The Grapefruit Slush is like a cold slap of summer freshness (in the best possible way) and the Grapefruit Honey Black Iced Tea? It’s got that chewy thing going on that somehow makes drinking feel like a mini adventure. The staff? Super friendly. And the owner? Just as nice. Honestly, there’s zero excuse not to drop by.it’s the perfect summer hideout for cooling off with the kids.Oh, and pro tip: don’t forget to grab a bottle of strawberry milk on your way out and stash it in the fridge at home. Future you will thank you! 🍓🥛
