Features / Highlights
The true allure of Namhansansung lies in its unique and authentic menu specializations, setting it apart from other Korean dining venues in the New Jersey area.
- Specialty Marinated Raw Seafood: The restaurant is highly regarded for its raw marinated seafood, particularly the Crab Marinated in Soy Sauce ($38.95), known in Korea as Ganjang Gejang. Other delectable options include Abalone Marinated in Soy Sauce ($48.95) and Shrimp Marinated in Soy Sauce ($28.95). For those new to this specialty, be aware that while the price point may be higher than average Korean cuisine, the unique flavor and preparation are considered a luxury well worth the cost by enthusiasts.
- Traditional Korean Health Soups (Baeksuk and others): A substantial portion of the menu is dedicated to hearty, traditional soups designed for comfort and health. These are often slow-cooked and feature premium, traditional ingredients. Options include Chicken and Nooroongji Soup ($48.95) and the more unique Chicken and Sarcodon Imbricatus Soup ($69.95).
- Premium Duck Specialties: The duck soup section of the menu is extensive and showcases high-value ingredients. Dishes like Duck and Nooroong Soup ($69.95), Duck and Lacquer Soup ($89.95), and the luxurious Duck, Abalon and Sarcodon Soup ($129.95) are truly specialties. Note that these traditional soups, especially the full-bird Baeksuk-style dishes, may require preparation time, so a one-hour wait for soup is a possibility, as noted by a customer, but the quality of the final product is consistently praised.
- Comfort and Healthy Offerings: The menu successfully bridges the gap between indulgent comfort food and healthy options, utilizing high-quality seafood, poultry, and medicinal ingredients.
- Family-Friendly Atmosphere: The restaurant maintains a Casual and Quiet ambiance and is known to be good for kids, making it a suitable choice for a Family-friendly outing or Group dining.
- Free Parking Lot: A significant convenience for all New Jersey drivers visiting the area, offering a Free parking lot on site.

If you are an adventurous eater or a lover of unique Korean dishes, the Marinated Raw Seafood is an absolute must-try. Though some reviewers have noted a higher price point compared to standard Korean fare, the flavor is distinctive and considered a true delicacy. Similarly, the Abalone Marinated in Soy Sauce offers a different texture and richness that is unique to the area.
Alternatively, for a truly restorative and traditional meal, you should absolutely explore the Specialty Soups. These long-simmered dishes are a staple of Korean "health food" and are perfect for a cold evening or whenever you need a boost. The chicken and duck options, often served with unique ingredients like Sarcodon Imbricatus mushroom, are designed to nourish the body. The review highlighting the "warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious" freshly prepared Baeksuk (Korean chicken soup) is a testament to the quality of these offerings. Given the preparation time for these complex soups, it is advisable to order them early in your meal or even inquire about them when making a reservation.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We were referenced to this Korean restaurant , with special marinated seafoods,,very delicious, but your need to wait one hour for the soups, be patient and worth for wait. The price is not cheap company to regular Korean restaurant, but recommend try there foods, if you like to eat raw seafoods. Serve no complain, but dont feel welcomed after we dropped in. no heart warm smile.
August 20 · Minna ZhuWhen I’m craving something truly delicious, this is the place I go. You can really feel the care and heart that goes into the food. The freshly prepared baeksuk (Korean chicken soup) is warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious.
August 03 · Hansong KimSoy marinated shrimp and spicy marinated crab were amazing! FYI the spicy crab was extremely spicy.
August 08 · JuliaIt’s suggested that always pre-order 1.5h before you dine in or take to go! We didn’t know that but the servant told us which dishes were able to be quickly(within a half hour) cook and serve, basically only marinated crab with soy sauce and rice. But trust me the crab meat with rice with soy sauce is the best combination! So special and so delicious! They also have really good duck soup or chicken soup, but again pre-order before you go! Overall a surprisingly good restaurant that I’ll definitely go again!
November 15 · Grace LiuThis place is a hidden gem for porridges and the marinated crab. The abalone and chicken/norongi porridges are soooo good! The soups are also very homely and heart warming, though would need a larger group for it. All in all, recommend!
