Cobbs Mill Inn Introduce
For decades, the Cobbs Mill Inn in Weston, Connecticut, has been more than just an American restaurant; it is a true Fairfield County landmark, revered for its stunning natural beauty and rich history. Located at the site of a former 18th-century sawmill and gristmill, the Inn is famously nestled over a cascading waterfall on the Saugatuck River, creating one of the most romantic and visually arresting dining and event venues in all of New England. Connecticut locals who have frequented the venue for generations often describe it as a “magical place,” a hidden gem that feels world’s away from the surrounding towns.
While the Inn has navigated periods of change and transition, the provided customer experiences speak to the enduring magic of the location and the unwavering determination of the management teams to honor its legacy. Its architectural elements—including colonial charm, original wooden beams, stone fireplaces, and loft ceilings—contribute to a dream-like, cozy, and rustic ambiance. Whether guests are seated by the roaring fire or gazing out at the rushing waterfall, the atmosphere is perfectly calibrated for intimate dinners and grand celebrations alike.
The business is categorically identified as an American restaurant and a premier event venue. Under recent management, the focus was firmly on quality and an elevated dining experience, featuring talented culinary staff like Chef Patrick, whose cooking, specifically the steak, has been highlighted by guests as “unbelievable.” The commitment to ensuring a positive reputation and a flawless guest experience, even during management transitions, shows a deep understanding of the high standards expected by the discerning Connecticut clientele.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've frequented the venue for decades. I had my sweet 16 birthday party there (I'm 73 now). I truly hope it stays open; even if on a limited schedule. A magical place!
July 07 · Rita SergisOur experience with Cobb's Mill Inn was a roller coaster that ended on a very high note. We booked the venue for our wedding two years ago under the old management, and had a very big scare when we heard that they were changing management. It wasn't the smoothest transition, but it was no fault of the current management. We were initially not given a contract or any receipts, and there was no documentation about the details of the day. We basically started from scratch with the new management. At the end of it all, we really feel like Cobb's Mill Inn is determined, and willing to do whatever it takes, to ensure that they create a positive reputation for themselves. They even honored the old pricing for our event, which was a huge relief for my family. The execution of our wedding reception was flawless. Cobb's Mill Inn is a hidden gem that is probably the most beautiful, romantic venue in Connecticut. The lights, the fireplace, the wooden beams, and the waterfall contributed to the most cozy, dream-like ambiance. Chef Patrick's food was unbelievable. My mom commented that it may have been the best steak she ever had. Chef even served our guests after-dinner drinks at a flaming coffee bar. The guests loved it! But the cherry on top was that the Chef was willing to cook vegetables that my husband and I provided from our farm. We were thrilled that they took a chance on us! Todd and Marlo were also extremely attentive to us that night, ensuring that we had cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a private bridal suite, and that the timeline ran smoothly. I dreamed about having a romantic, rustic wedding, and that is exactly what I got. I wish this new management all the best and will recommend them to everyone I know.
November 04 · Victoria SmeyThe most beautiful setting for a restaurant in all of Connecticut...hands down. You really don't go to Cobbs Mill for the menu, however I think the food was terrific. One of the few places I've found that serve duck-my favorite. If you want a quiet, romantic dinner and want to impress your significant other..take her here...
October 26 · David G. SperryThe concept of "night life" is not easily identifiable in Weston, a quiet little semi-rural bedroom community in Fairfield County known more for its antique colonial homes and two-acre zoning than anything approaching liveliness. However, this reincarnation of the Cobb's Mill Inn is determined to change people's thinking. The location itself remains beautiful - an early American mill next to a mill pond and cascading waters that screams "romantic" and "rustic" but is now trying to get its groove on also. The decor has been freshened just a bit to give it a little more upscale feel, and the food is an eclectic combination of French, Spanish and Italian dishes that makes it relatively easy to find something interesting on the menu. For kids or casual dining there's pizza and burgers also, so not surprisingly it's a mix of families and adults for clientele. The wine list goes from reasonable bottles and glasses up to moderately pricey selections, tilted mostly towards American and French vintages, but decent enough. There's live music most nights, and for our dinner there was a guitarist playing baby-boomer favorites, which was fine enough, The bar scene appeared fairly lively, and in general the ambiance was a nice mix of hopping, quiet and buzzy between the main parts of the dining areas and bar, which includes some screened outdoor seating near the trickling waters of the mill pond dam. The food was quite good, not foot-stomping great but very nicely prepared with plenty of creative touches, decent portions and fairly priced. We had a very good time, though the table help appears to be still learning the ropes a bit. Dining in lower Fairfield County is always a challenge, as you have to navigate between the expectations of "captains of industry" and the reality that most of them don't really appreciate good food or a good time, but La Roue Elayne seems to have a nice, fresh upbeat approach in a beautiful location that makes it a fun place to go if you're looking to up it a notch or two for both food and fun from typical family fare but not trying to hit for the fences of impressing fussy foodies. Relaxed, upbeat, fresh - worth a try.
