Daddy’s Bar Introduce
Daddy’s Bar, a women-owned establishment in the heart of Ridgewood, New York, offers a distinct and welcoming alternative to the typical Brooklyn bar scene. As a cocktail bar, it's a place where quality drinks and a thoughtfully curated atmosphere take center stage. With a reputation for great cocktails, fast service, and a cozy, trendy vibe, Daddy's Bar has carved out a special niche for itself as a go-to spot for locals and groups looking for a laid-back and enjoyable night out.
The bar is known for its excellent selection of cocktails, including classics like the Old Fashioned and the Gin Gimlet, as well as unique creations like the Key Lime Margarita and The Synthesizer. This focus on well-crafted beverages is a major highlight, as noted by a reviewer who praised the "great cocktails." The bar’s ambiance is a key part of its appeal, with one customer noting its "great vibes and ambiance" and calling it a "very nice change from the Brooklyn dive bars." The friendly and conversational staff also contributes to the welcoming feel, making it a place where patrons feel comfortable and at ease.
However, Daddy’s Bar's identity is not without nuance. While the atmosphere is generally well-regarded, some patrons have mentioned the seating can be uncomfortable. Furthermore, a review from a native Ridgewood resident highlighted a sense of cliquishness, particularly around the popular pool table, where a few "pool sharks" tend to dominate the game. This can be frustrating for newcomers or those not part of the established crowd. Another review mentioned a negative interaction with a bartender and an owner, which, while not a universal experience, points to a potential for inconsistent service. Despite these mixed comments, the bar's core strengths—its strong drinks, fast service, and overall cozy ambiance—remain its main draw, and many customers continue to enjoy their time there.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great vibes and ambiance. A very nice change from the Brooklyn dive bars. Drinks are good and bartenders are nice, friendly, and chatty.Only negative is if you want to play pool with a group of friends you have to win the table from a couple of pool sharks who continually own the table over and over again. So bring someone who is very good at pool or you’ll only be playing the pool sharks. Kind of lame but whatever. House rules I guess.Aside from that I enjoy this bar.
July 05 · Rita WadeAllow me to introduce myself here.I am a native Ridgewood citizen. And after seeing how this place has evolved I can say the following.Beautiful pool tableAtmosphere? GoodSeats? Uncomfortable honestly - all if not most of themMusic? OddFood ? is okay - texture of the lamb burgers could be better for the price.Drinks? beer out of a can and a frozen banana margarita.Service? great conversationalists! However, I've been yelled at by a bartender and an owner (female), after having been a regular for a while. They thought a friend and I were throwing the pool balls on the floor on purpose - but we were learning how to play and mistakingly dropped two of them. The owner came up to us and raised her voice at us in front of everyone - telling us to stop and to be more careful. I couldn't have been more offended after having been yelled at by a bartender on a separate day (you know who you are).I used to spend a good amount of money here - but got really turned off by how dismissive and rude the situation was. I've been in the industry myself as a maître d for many years, for successful businesses, and I can tell you this - treat your regulars nice - because they're the ones that will drop money on a dead Monday. Also - most if not everybody that hangs out there used to work there, currently works there, or know someone that does - so if you're not in that clique - good luck!
July 28 · TrustMyWordOnThisOneA better version of this bar that doesn’t hate black or queer people is Mr. Nancy’s on Seneca. Had an experience here where the people making food set eyes on me and my friends(black folks) & turned away from serving us. Will never forget & will make sure to let my community know that they have issues with Black folks. Aside from having a pool table, they’re nothing special.
August 18 · Sasha SchaafeMykonos melt was wonderful, puff pastry not greasy. Oregano chips, yogurt dip. Filled with very tasty beef and lamb with peppers and melted cheese flavors balanced just right. Very friendly staff and cook person (owner?). I could have wished for a sweet treat to round it off, but was stuffed after the meal.
July 20 · Debbie PariseCool hidden gem in Ridgewood with great drink prices and good vibes. Staff are very friendly. Came in on a karaoke night, and it was loads of fun.
