★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1⸻I ordered two different soups: a large chicken soup and a small sancocho. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the sancocho—it only included one type of meat (pork), when an authentic Dominican sancocho traditionally has at least 2–3 different proteins. The chicken soup was just okay; it was mostly broth and made with chicken wings instead of drumsticks or breast, which is what you would normally expect and prefer in a good chicken soup. For the price, the quality and authenticity really fell short. It feels like corners are being cut while charging higher prices.
August 30 · Katherine DenoI called the restaurant to tell them to be careful with the Carne de cerdo frita , is not fresh and it has a bit of smell . The lady that pick up the phone was quick to tell me that i shouldn’t had eat it . She’s rude and not respectful! If she can’t work doing customer services then she should quit. First of all that’s one of the restaurant job to serve FRESH FOOD , the chef has to inspect everything before cooking it . I always order but to be honest the service that I been getting lately is not one of the best and it’s sad , I hope you guys do better next time .
June 15 · Shantal SantanaFor a taste of authentic Dominican food in the heart of New York City, head to Dyckman Express in Dyckman. This bustling restaurant is a local favorite, serving up traditional Dominican dishes with a modern twist. The menu at Dyckman Express is full of bold, flavorful options. Start with a plate of crispy tostones, served with a tangy garlic sauce, or a serving of mofongo stuffed with shrimp, chicken, or beef. The seafood is particularly impressive, with options like whole fried red snapper and shrimp in a creamy garlic sauce. But what really sets Dyckman Express apart is its commitment to innovation. While the menu is rooted in tradition, the chefs are always experimenting with new flavors and techniques. Try the chimi burger, a Dominican-style burger served on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, and a tangy sauce, or the Dominican-style sushi rolls, which feature plantains instead of rice. The atmosphere at Dyckman Express is lively and welcoming, with music blasting and customers chatting over their meals. The staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to recommend a dish or share a story about the restaurant's history. In a city full of trendy restaurants and international cuisine, Dyckman Express stands out for its commitment to authenticity and innovation. It's the kind of place that Anthony Bourdain would have loved – unpretentious, full of flavor, and always pushing the boundaries. If you're in Dyckman, make sure to put Dyckman Express on your list of must-visit restaurants.
March 26 · SC PhotographyThe food is tasty but inconsistent. Everytime I order their “Freshly squeezed” orange juice that’s already overpriced, they send me regular Tropicana thinking I don’t notice. It’s obviously not the same.
December 16 · EmelyThis place was good before.. but now they are serving less food with higher prices..
