Features / Highlights

- The Metro-North Menu Theme: The inclusion of station names from the Harlem, Hudson, and New Haven lines in its cultural reference points reinforces its local New York identity. ---What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Grand Central Bagel Cafe is a decision to prioritize authentic New York bagel quality and unparalleled menu variety, coupled with local convenience. The primary reason for a local New York resident to frequent this spot is the perfect texture of the bagels, as affirmed by long-time patrons from Forest Hills, NY. The recommendation to purchase them early and skip toasting underscores their fresh, high-quality preparation.
For those looking beyond a standard bagel, the enormous selection of sandwiches and wraps, many with a distinct New York-area identity, is a major draw. From the Long Island Lox to the rich, grilled options like the Upper East Side steak sandwich, the cafe provides substantial, flavorful meals suitable for Breakfast or a quick lunch.
However, it is important for customers to note the variance in food quality mentioned in one review, specifically regarding non-bagel items like bacon being "low grade." While the bagels themselves receive high marks, customers ordering off the deli or breakfast grill menu should be aware of this feedback. Given the overall strength of the bagel base and the specialty nature of the shop, focusing on their fresh bagels, classic spreads, or high-volume items like the popular breakfast sandwiches (which consistently impress with flavor balance) is a safe bet.
Ultimately, the combination of convenient Free street parking, the option for In-store pickup or Delivery, and a deep menu of classic and creative New York-style fare makes Grand Central Bagel Cafe an essential, neighborly choice for a superior morning meal or a Quick visit any day of the week in Westchester County.

May 20 · Edwin CruzPerfect location with a municipal parking lot next to the cafe. GCBC bagels are as close to the bagels I grew up eating in Forest Hills. They are soft but slightly chewy. Perfect texture! When I go early in the morning after they've taken them out of the oven, I don't even ask them to toast it. Sometimes I have to wait in line because they're busy but that's a good sign. There are regulars who come every morning and read newspapers while having their bagels. It's a neighborly place with excellent bagels.
October 06 · Dr. Karen S. LeeFirst, the service is horrible, waited 40 minutes for an americano coffee. The butter that they use is really bad is saltier than a rock of Himalayan, they use cheap ingredients. The bagels taste just like the super market bagels. I went there because someone from the area recommended it and we like to try new things. I will never go back or recommend it, service is bad, the wait is not worthy and the quality not their food is not the best. I guess this place is always packed because is a small town and people don’t have many choices to pick from.
October 30 · Sorangel VillafañaTheir workers are awesome! Anytime I take the train to visit family, I have to stop here early in the morning. They're all young kids who work there, but something about them makes my day better. The bagels are more than decent, and the coffee is reliably good. Id give the food a 4 star, but the workers made my experience a lot better.
September 30 · Justin GuielSunday morning ordered a dozen bagels. Rye and cinnamon raisin were stale. Paltry toppings on salt and “blizzard” ie everything bagels. The rest of the dozen were hard but edible. I figured weekend morning would produce fresh bagels. “Best coffee in town” sign is not true. Plenty of better alternatives down the street. Asked for an iced coffee with cream and sugar, they will give it to you black and point to the extras. Rainbow bagels cost $3?! This whole place is a mediocre trap for Metro North train goers. Try Bagellicious in Thornwood where the bagels are fresh and a bakers dozen is 15 not 13 like at Bagel Cafe.
