Je T’aime Patisserie Introduce
In the vibrant and diverse landscape of Brooklyn's local businesses, certain spots stand out not only for their high-quality products but also for the sense of community they foster. Je T’aime Patisserie, a **Black-owned** and **women-owned** bakery in the heart of the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, is a prime example. This cafe and bakery is more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a beautifully decorated, super organized space that offers a truly welcoming atmosphere. The name, which translates to "I love you" in French, perfectly captures the spirit of the establishment, which is built on a foundation of love for its craft and for its community. It's a place where customers can sit and read a book, enjoy a cup of coffee, and indulge in a variety of delicious treats, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind from the city's fast pace. The dedication to creating a pleasant environment is evident in the positive reviews, with one customer noting that the space is a "gem" and praising the staff for being "friendly." For New Yorkers seeking an authentic and comforting local experience, Je T'aime Patisserie offers a peaceful retreat that feels both high-end and deeply rooted in its neighborhood, a place that is made from love and made to extend love.
Je T'aime Patisserie is a true testament to the idea that a local business can be both a hub for a quick, delicious treat and a destination for a more leisurely break. While one customer found the savory pastries to be "hit or miss," citing a too-sweet sausage roll and a lack of filling in a ham and cheese croissant, they still praised the croissant itself and had an "amazing brownie" and a "great" cinnamon roll. This feedback highlights a key feature of the patisserie: the seasonal and rotating nature of its menu, which can lead to both incredible discoveries and occasional disappointments. However, the overwhelming consensus points to the quality and freshness of the products. A family who traveled all the way from the Bronx confirmed that their ham & cheese croissant, focaccia, and raspberry pistachio croissant were all "fresh, flavorful, and delicious." Beyond the pastries, the cafe's offerings of **coffee** and other drinks make it a versatile spot for any time of day. The staff's friendly demeanor and the beautifully decorated interior, complete with an organized book selection, add to the inviting ambiance. The cafe is also committed to inclusivity, proudly identifying as **LGBTQ+ friendly** and a **transgender safespace**, which makes it a comfortable and welcoming spot for everyone in the community. It’s a place that is worth visiting not just for the food, but for the entire experience it offers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This bakery is such a gem! Service was quick, and there’s plenty to choose from. The staff was friendly, and the space itself is beautifully decorated with super organized books you can sit and read while enjoying your treats. They also offer coffee, tea, and other drinks, which makes it a perfect spot to relax. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it’s absolutely worth the visit. I came all the way from the Bronx with my family, and we tried the ham & cheese croissant, focaccia, and raspberry pistachio croissant. everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I can’t wait to come back!
August 19 · Steph FHit or miss. The savory pastries aren’t worth it. Sausage in the sausage roll is way too sweet; like it’s rolled in sugar. And the ham and cheese croissant had almost no filling. Croissant itself was good though. They had a biscuit sandwich that I wanted to love, but was mid. The biscuit was dry and not very flavorful. I had an amazing brownie there, but it came off their seasonal menu and I was disappointed I couldn’t get it the next time I went. The cinnamon roll was great too; prob also seasonal. I might go back if I was walking past; wouldn’t go out of my way tho.
August 10 · ZoeThis was one of the best pastry experiences I've ever had.You would literally have to go to France or Jè Taime Patisserie for a REAL Croissant Hands Down!!!! The Staff was very pleasant. The owner was working just as much and as hard as her staff.Q They were extremely attentive, answering questions, giving information, and also it was teaching going on amongst the staff and owner. Very clean. Very inviting. Very Much will return again🤌🏾✨️💜
August 21 · Mercedes CI’ve been wanting to try out this bakery for quite some time now, but due to my schedule, I kept missing their hours of operation. Recently, I finally got a chance to visit. Since it was my first time, I took my time looking over the pastry selection and asked a question or two. Unfortunately, the woman at the counter responded in a way that made me feel as though I was being annoying or that my questions were silly.(Mind you I just asked if they will be making anymore of a particular pastry I seen advertised on their website.)I brushed it off and went ahead with my order—though I felt rushed, despite being the only customer in line and the bakery being nearly empty. I initially thought maybe the staff member( tall , light skin ,short hair woman ) was just having an off day, so I tried to lighten the mood and engage with the owner, who was seated behind the counter. Based on the owners social media presence, I expected someone warm and welcoming, but that day, she seemed disengaged and cold. There was no greeting, no smile—just a blank expression, even when I tried to spark a bit of conversation. On a positive note, the bakery is beautifully decorated and the pastries were delicious. Still, I left feeling disappointed by the overall customer service experience, especially since I had such high expectations from what I’d seen online. This isn’t meant to come off as negative—just an honest account of my visit. I truly hope the owner receives this as constructive feedback. I’d love to see this bakery continue to grow and succeed, and I’d hate for poor customer service to be the reason it falls short.
June 19 · JazzyWonderful time. Took my mom here as an early Mother's Day outing. The pastry was a deliciously refreshing surprise. I normally try/go for cappuccinos, but the Red Velvet Latte caught my eye. I decided to try it, instead. Delightfully nutty tasting notes, with a smooth sweet finish. The espresso was just right and balanced well with the milk. Will come back again, with friends next time. 💖
May 11 · Jesse Lee-Young (izu)Unfortunately, my recent visit was met with a rather unwelcoming and unpleasant demeanor from the owner. Both my mother and I found her attitude to be quite rude and distant throughout our time there. A short time later, a different customer entered the bakery, and I was taken aback by the stark contrast in the owner's behavior. She was suddenly cheerful and very friendly to the new customer, which made her previous attitude even more disappointing. While I understand that everyone has off days, the level of rudeness we experienced was unprofessional and created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Given this experience, I will not be returning to this establishment.
