Named after the legendary jazz clarinetist Mezz Mezzrow, this establishment honors the spirit of classic jazz and the communal joy of live music. It's a place where the focus is squarely on the art, the artists, and the audience's connection to the performance.
Mezzrow’s atmosphere is famously relaxed, with a dimly lit, casual setting that encourages you to unwind and immerse yourself in the moment. The space is small and personal, offering a truly unique experience. It’s an ideal choice for a special date night, a celebration, or simply a night of personal escape into the world of music.
The intimate nature of the club means you are not just a spectator; you are a participant in a live, artistic event. The fast and friendly service, coupled with the phenomenal music, ensures that your time at Mezzrow will be truly memorable. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 110/10 experience. Took my family, and loved every single detail about it! Booked tickets in advance and got great seats. Music and service was phenomenal. We arrived 10 minutes before the show. It’s my favorite jazz bar in the city!
August 24 · Pedro Jose CastroI can’t stop thinking about my night at Mezzrow—it felt like stepping into jazz history. Tucked into a cozy basement in the West Village, the place has a speakeasy vibe: exposed brick walls, candlelit marble tables, and that faint rumble of the A Train underneath that only adds to the underground charm. The acoustics are phenomenal, filling the room without overwhelming it, and the room is so small (about 30 seats) that you’re literally a couple of feet from the musicians.
July 16 · Miranda LiangJust want you want in a Jazz Bar. Intimate, respect for the artist and jaw dropping jazz. Felt like a warm hug on a cold day. We caught the Jason Brown trio. Just sat in a cosy feverdream of a pocket and let it all wash over me. Hope to come back soon.
September 01 · akshayshankar17This is a tiny jazz club. The space was heavily limited inside. Overall, the service was adequate and the quality of the cocktail was better than expected. However, the menu options were limited. Most importantly, the quality of the performance deviated a bit from expectations. Maybe it was specifically the band that was performing the night of, but it was unfortunately the unsatisfying part of the night.
March 01 · Ben ParkWent for a jazz trio event. I purchased tickets online in advance. Before and during the show, you can order drinks. The drinks were good, pricing is a little high. The atmosphere is well decorated but flat due to low ceiling. I like to believe it helps for the sound. There are not many places to sit, so reservation is crucial for specific events.
