★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been to Omonia in Astoria a few times before and always appreciated the quick and pleasant service. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was quite disappointing. We went to celebrate a friend’s wedding registration — a special occasion — and the experience left a lot to be desired. To start, it took a very long time for our drinks to arrive. When they finally did, the server accidentally spilled them on us. Mistakes happen, but what made it worse was the lack of urgency or care afterward. The food came out — including the steaks — yet some drinks, including the groom’s, still hadn’t arrived. No one came by to check on us or ask if we needed anything, despite us being the only table in the restaurant at the beginning. It felt like the staff, possibly new, weren’t properly trained or coordinated. As someone who works in the restaurant industry myself, I understand that things can get hectic, but there’s a basic level of attentiveness that guests — especially those celebrating an important moment — should receive. Sadly, that was missing.I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience really stood out in contrast to previous visits. I hope management sees this and takes steps to improve consistency and training for the staff.
June 27 · Tahmina ZaitGreat little pastry shop. The cheesecake is pretty good. I'd say even better than Martha's on Ditmars. That's a big statement if you know the area. Definitely worth stopping in.
July 14 · Steven RodriguezStopped by this shop two nights in a row for desserts while in the area on vacation. We had the Baklava Cheesecake and Pecan Pie the first evening and the Apple Crumb Cheesecake and an Eclair the next. Each of them were tasty and the staff were very friendly. Looking forward to trying more of their desserts soon.
November 28 · Dan BrownGreat place for a nice sweet treat! I wasn’t a fan of the Oreo cheesecake as it’s pretty heavy on the cheese! But everything else is great.
September 25 · Emely RomoBakery in Astoria Queens. Big choice of Greek and other pastries, cookies, cakes ,macaroons , ice cream and you also can order cake for any occasion.
