Sundaes Best stands out as a top choice for anyone in New York looking for a superior dessert experience. The primary reason is the unparalleled uniqueness of its flavors. Instead of a standard menu of chocolate and vanilla, you can find innovative and culturally rich options like Nurungji (roasted rice) gelato, which offers a creamy, nutty, and subtly sweet flavor that is both comforting and new. The sorbets, like the boldly tart Kalamansi, provide an invigorating burst of citrus that is perfect for a hot day. This is a place for the adventurous eater and for those who appreciate authentic and thoughtful flavor combinations. The menu is a celebration of Asian ingredients and traditions, bringing a fresh perspective to the world of frozen desserts.
Another compelling reason to visit is the quality of the product itself. The gelato is consistently praised for its smooth, creamy texture and rich flavor, a result of meticulous craftsmanship. This is a far cry from the overwhipped, icy desserts that can often be disappointing. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent, with a small business feel and a high-end product that makes every purchase feel worthwhile. The staff's willingness to let customers sample different flavors is a testament to their confidence in their product and their dedication to customer satisfaction.
Finally, the overall experience at Sundaes Best is incredibly positive. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere makes it a great spot for any occasion, whether you're stopping by for a solo treat or bringing the kids for a weekend outing. The service is friendly, quick, and efficient, which is a major plus in a busy city like New York. The fact that it's a local small business adds to its charm and makes it a place worth supporting. Sundaes Best is more than just an ice cream shop; it's a destination for unique, high-quality, and delicious frozen desserts that promise to delight your senses and leave you eager for your next visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm always a bit skeptical whenever I visit a place with a perfect 5.0 review, especially for gelato -- I've had my fair share of misses and flops from eating lots of artificial, icy, overwhipped frozen desserts masquerading as gelato. Sundaes Best rose to the occasion and shattered my prejudice and is worthy of its 5.0 stars for a combination of excellent flavors and terrific service!Upon arrival I was happy to see whimsical flavors inspired by Korean culture featured on the menu. They all looked really good and I wanted to try them all! Luckily the young lady who was working at the counter let me taste multiple flavors, which usually doesn't fly in many ice cream shops. Other shops only let you taste one or two flavors at most; here, they let you taste more! And she gave such a generous portion, too! (And she was smart enough to put the sorbet scoop on top of the gelato scoop -- good employee training and good common sense, both of which are rare nowadays.) Shoutout to the young lady working on Friday 7/4 at 6pm!The Jeju Mandarin was sweet and mellow, and felt nostalgic because it tasted like the Lotte Sac Sac drinks I had as a kid. The Honey Makgeoli really tasted like makgeoli -- it had a pleasant, mild yeasty flavor with a smooth aftertaste, and there's an ever so faint buzz you feel that puts a smile on your face. The Nurungji tasted just like those traditional Korean crispy puffed rice snacks; it had a very nice, creamy mouthfeel and a sweet and nutty flavor that is perfect for indulging (I got a scoop of this -- it was really good). The Brown Sugar Milk Tea is very subtle and not too sweet (if you're the type of person who orders their milk tea at 50% sweetness, you will enjoy this greatly). The Mango sorbet is a classic crowdpleaser (almost all gone by the time I had arrived). The Kalamansi is a super kick in the tastebuds -- if you love Warheads and really sour candies, this is definitely up your alley. I think every single papilla on my tongue was all perked up after finishing my scoop (but it wasn't unpleasantly sour, it had a beautiful citrusy taste and you could really taste the essential oil of the fruit).I will definitely come visit again to try the remaining flavors! Seems like they will not be lacking in business because soon after I had arrived, a line quickly formed behind me! So make sure you get to Sundaes Best early enough to ensure you get a scoop of the flavor of your choice! Keep up the great work you guys! You've earned a new fan!
July 05 · CactusbloomWe were craving something sweet and this place did not miss the vibe , they understood the assignment . I got the ube and banana cream gelato and my bf got the pineapple and mango sorbet. Omg it was so yummy. They let us try as much favor as we wanted and they were extremely really nice.
September 11 · Shelly HLiterally leaving a review while I'm here. Ghost the lychee and it was fantastic. But I made the mistake of not getting the kalamansi. That was definitely up my alley when he asked if I wanted to try it. I regret the lychee because lemon lime stuff is my weakness.I asked for a small and the worker there told me "it's only two scoops, is that ok?" Making it feel like it will be tiny scoops.Do not let that fool you, they give great portions even when it's only two scoops. More then enough for one person. Definitely head to this gem, you will not regret it.
August 13 · Kev C. (Fattymicfatfat)Such cool flavors and I got to sample so many of them. They were all delicious and unique to me. I ended up getting the Korean plum and rice puff flavor. Amazing combo! The server was also so sweet and she was extremely kind in letting us try different flavors. I definitely want to come back!
February 17 · Kathy ArroyoThe flavors are so creative and cool. The worker, Andy, was really kind and let me and my bf try so many of the flavors. I recommend the jeju mandarin and kalamansi if u like a citrus flavor that's refreshing.
