I’ve been a long time fan of Martha’s but solidly believe that if you are looking for higher quality baked goods, then you should head a couple blocks over to The French Workshop.There aren’t as many options of different slices of cakes and cheesecakes. Instead, you have an array of intricate desserts and pastries that are a cut above the regular cheesecake + random fruit that you’d get elsewhere.There are also a lot of options for vegans, including cookies, muffins, and breads (look near the register) which is a nice find.
August 02 · Shawn CJuly 2, 2025, I visited this bakery, and to my surprise the pastries I tried were delicious,tasty and fresh. The place is very clean beautiful. They have a variety of pastries to choose from. The service was great as well. The only drawback was that it was very hot and no AC on this day. I talked to the supervisor and she acknowledged that it was not working and they called someone to fix the AC . This is why I gave a 4, but I will definitely be back.

It’s one of my favorite spots—every visit feels like a little taste of Paris. They have a variety of pastries, sandwiches, drinks, etc!! I love it!!!

I was trying to slice the tarts into bite pieces until I saw a hair or a hairlike thing right under the strawberry cheesecake tarts with the syrup that holds the tart to the gold paper. I believe it is hair from the employee, but it looks very fragile. I hope that the employee washed their hair….. I took the hairs out to take a picture and the hairs were definitely inside the syrup under the tart. It can happen, but it can be preventable. I am very uncomfortable and afraid that I have to check their desserts for any hairs in the future. It would be nice if the manager or the supervisor can check for hairs before selling to customers.
