ABOKI SUYA SPOT LLC Introduce
For New Jersey residents looking to explore a rich and flavorful culinary landscape right here in the Garden State, ABOKI SUYA SPOT LLC offers an authentic taste of West African cuisine. Located in the heart of Newark, this establishment specializes in dishes that are staples across the region, most notably the popular grilled meat delicacy known as Suya. The restaurant provides a comfortable and casual setting, making it an accessible spot for locals, families, and solo diners interested in experiencing Nigerian and other West African food traditions.
West African cuisine, particularly Nigerian food, is celebrated for its deep, comforting flavors, liberal use of spices, and hearty preparations. ABOKI SUYA SPOT LLC focuses on providing authentic recipes, often featuring items like slow-cooked stews, savory rice dishes, and the star attraction, Suya. The menu is designed to cater to both those already familiar with the cuisine and newcomers eager to try something different from the usual dining options in New Jersey.
The signature dish, **Suya**, is a traditional Nigerian street food that has become popular across West Africa and globally. It consists of thinly sliced, skewered meat (often beef or chicken in this case) that is marinated and rubbed generously with a special dry spice blend called 'Yaji'. This blend is famously made with ingredients that typically include ground peanuts (or 'Kuli-Kuli', a peanut cake), chili peppers, ginger, garlic, and other unique spices, giving the meat its distinct nutty, smoky, and spicy flavor profile. At ABOKI SUYA SPOT LLC, you can find options like the 3 Stick Beef Suya Meat and the Aboki Suya Shawama, offering various ways to enjoy this classic treat.
Beyond the Suya, the restaurant’s offerings highlight other core West African dishes. The menu features favorites such as **Spicy Jollof Rice**, a renowned one-pot rice dish known for its vibrant red color and rich tomato and pepper-infused flavor, served here with options like Roasted Chicken or Aboki Suya. Traditional swallows like **Tuwon Shinkafa** (rice flour pudding) served with **Miyan Kuka** (a soup made from baobab leaves) offer a deeper dive into regional specialties. Diners can also enjoy unique treats like **FURA DAI NONO** (a traditional beverage made from fermented cow's milk and ground millet), **Baked Maize (Wainna)**, and other comforting, flavorful plates.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Don’t waste your time or money on this microwaved food. Food is freshly cooked and the wait is an hour or better. Customer service is poor along with the food. Small portions, the hollow is extremely dry and the chicken Suya. There was no meat on the chicken, please read the other reviews and save ya money. Try Burkina Supermarket on Lyons ave where they cook the food fresh, you can smell from your car. Food is flavorful and portions lasting. I will not return nor recommend. Please do better by your customers, this is your business take pride in it.
January 18 · Ahnyinah DavisI accidentally found this spot, but they were closing, so I couldn't try the food. I returned recently, and the Suya was perfectly fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious with the Aboki bread. Despite some surprising reviews, the food has been great every time I've had it. My only fuss is the menu had Suya fish the first time I visited, but it wasn’t on the menu the few other times I've come. Even though it's almost an hour away, it's now my go to spot, totally worth the trip.
August 11 · Adobia WrehAccidentally stumbled upon this place and so glad I did! The energy is amazing - the food is even better. I have to add the owner is so welcoming. This also has to be the best suya I’ve ever had; I’ll let you folks taste it through the picture.
January 22 · Diamond VigorThe worst experience ever, the suya had absolutely no taste, please don't waste your money i bought six sticks and ended up using my own suya pepper at home to re-season. It was dryyyyyy and boring to eat. Gosh please do better!!!!
July 17 · Adeshola MogajiA place with great testing Nigerian Suya and other Nigeria Dishes. I also enjoyed the freshly baked bread, it brought the test of being in Nigeria back.
