al di là Trattoria Introduce
For over two decades, al di là Trattoria has been a cornerstone of Brooklyn's culinary landscape, a true neighborhood staple on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope. In a city saturated with Italian restaurants, al di là—which translates to "beyond" in Italian—truly lives up to its name, consistently delivering an authentic taste of Northern Italian and particularly Venetian cuisine that draws discerning diners from across the metropolitan New York area. This isn't your standard red-sauce joint; it’s an intimate, old-world haven offering dishes crafted with care, simplicity, and a steadfast commitment to high-quality, seasonal ingredients.
The restaurant's foundation is built on the vision of co-owner and celebrated Chef Anna Klinger, who, alongside her partner, has cultivated a warm, rustic atmosphere reminiscent of a charming Italian trattoria. This dedication to authenticity and quality has earned al di là consistent praise from local patrons and critics alike, including recognition from the Michelin Guide. The dining room itself is a delightful step back in time, featuring a comfortable, old-style setting with vintage tin ceilings, tile floors, and classic bentwood chairs that immediately envelop guests in a cozy, intimate, and romantic ambiance.
For New Yorkers, al di là offers a genuine culinary experience that feels both rooted in tradition and refreshingly current. It's a place where the simple excellence of homemade pasta and robust Northern Italian main courses—like the highly praised braised rabbit—take precedence over fleeting trends. As a proudly women-owned establishment, it contributes to the diverse and thriving entrepreneurial spirit of Brooklyn, making it a standout choice for an exceptional dining outing.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We wanted to come to al di lá for a while and glad we finally did. Made a reservation beforehand since this place does get busy on the weekend and glad we did. The drinks were delicious, we got a nice recommendation from a gentleman working here. The pasta was good - definitely fresh and quality ingredients but that’s it. There’s a lot of pasta shops in the area and they all sit at the same level of taste. Would definitely stop by again if I was ever in the mood for pasta and wanted to eat out.
September 15 · Andrew DabydeenThis Italian restaurant is one of the few places in NYC where you’ll find rabbit on the menu—and it’s prepared exceptionally well. The pear cake was another highlight, perfectly balanced and memorable. The food remains consistently excellent, served in a warm, authentic setting. Also, returning after several years, we were thrilled to find the same high quality and familiar menu we remembered.
June 24 · Olga NYCSuper delicious! Saturday night dinner. Not crowded. Amazing atmosphere. Food was out of this world. Pasta and the starters!Get the oxtail stew thing on the appetizer list. Incredible. Cocktail was excellent too !
June 02 · Dara LeungI came here on a cold Wednesday night with a good friend in early January who lives nearby. I’m not sure when he booked the reservation but I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant seemed quite crowded, but not packed. The restaurant is very quaint and feels like a neighborhood staple right when you come through the door. The food was good to great, but not amazing. The service was also good, but not exceptional. The cocktails and drink menu were also nice. This very much seems like the type of place where you would have want to have a nice meal with friends close to home.I would recommend and I would go back.
January 22 · David JosephAmazing and unexpected delicious meal! It was rich and delicious! Everything we had was cooked to perfection.Excellent service! The wine was paired perfectly. Bread in the mussels was so delicious. Great and comfortable ambiance. It's so beautiful. It was comfortable, but not too casual.
