★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1There were two great things about this place: the waitress was incredibly gracious and she tries really hard, and there were many other diners who were attractive looking people in beautiful clothes. But food wise… meh. Unfortunately it was quite average for the price. We were sitting in front of the bath rooms and that wasn’t so good either.
August 23 · Jackey ChanLoved the Omakase experience at the counter and our sushi chef Ryan! It was exceptional! My personal favorite was the tuna with a hazelnut inside with mushrooms on top. The miso black cod with rice on the side as an appetizer is a close second. They are strict on being punctual, but that’s part of the experience for all the pieces come out timely.
February 04 · Katrina DOMAKASE BY KISSAKIFor those not familiar,Omakase is a Japanese dining experience where you leave the meal selection entirely to the chefThe options range from sushi to cooked dishes. All meticulously crafted and served.Kissaki means tip of the sword.Took my friend Lauren along who is my expert on Sushi. She had been there before and loved it againWe had the 14 course option which includedRed snapperHamachi ( yellow taill)Stripped JackGolden eyeHorse mackerelJapanese Barracuda - KamasuJapanese abolone with brussels sprouts, Japanese edible flower and crab miso sauce was something very different.Blue fin tuna, topped with butter shitake and roasted almond under it. This was a great flavor profileThe dessert was peach cobbler with a Japanese crown melon sorbet.Had a little fun by checking out the fresh fishChef James was great and walked me through the entire course. And big thank you to Lorena behind the bar.Check out Kissaki for a great Omakase experience. I'm not a frequent eater of sushi. However, this was excellent.#omakase #sushi #kissaki
April 19 · NYCBuddhaHad some hesitation about coming here given the 4.3 star rating on Maps, but throughout my experience I grew increasingly confused as to why Kissaki would receive lower than 5 stars. My group opted for the longer omakase option (2 hr/15 course) and we all found the preparation, presentation, and pacing was perfect. The soup may have been the least exciting dish, but it was still pretty good. The rest of the fish and caviar in different forms were just brilliant throughout the omakase. The chef was courteous and attentive to how fast or slow we were eating - all staff were kind, quick, and made sure our cups were full. Don't understand why this place got lower ratings.
October 14 · Anson ByunWow, it's my first time seeing so many whole fish at an omakase restaurant! They have their own Fishery and Wildlife License, allowing them to source the finest fish directly from Japanese fishing areas ✌️The environment here is elegant and comfortable. Each course is generously prepared with thick, high-quality sashimi that's fresh and has a unique flavor.I really liked the nigiri with yuzu sauce, which was refreshing and delicate. The most impressive course was the second appetizer; it had a crispy nori base topped with layers of corn, toro, caviar, and black truffle, creating a crunchy, fresh, and rich taste.I still crave it after finishing it 😍 Definitely a must-try!The third course was like melon wrapped around rice grains, showing the chef's sense of fun and innovation 💕 Not to be missed!Looking forward to discovering new surprises on my next visit!
