Alvo’s pizza is delicious. Came across this place recently outta nowhere while walking in the neighborhood; saw a few people carrying the blue pizza box or eating a slice. Ordered a cheese slice and a buffalo chicken slice. They tasted amazing! The crust is crispy, sauce was good too. This place is going to be a super hit in some months. Will be back here every now and then!

I am a huge pizza snob. I eat it all the time. I make my own pizza. This is the first time I have had a slice that I like as much as my own. Excellent stuff. I had a red slice (cheese/regular) and a pepperoni. The cheese slice was top tier. I ordered it well done/extra crispy and would do that again.Two knocks (that are nitpicks not worth removing a star):1) The pepperoni is a little sloppy, it would be much better if it was precooked to get it crispier and less greasy. It made the pepperoni slice a lot softer and goopier.2) They cook on wire racks rather than launching from wood directly into the oven.If the red/cheese/regular wasn’t so excellent I’d knock a star off for each of the above.I’m in town for a week and will be eating at ALVO every day lol

As a lifelong New Yorker who can be a bit of a pizza snob, Alvo's classic regular slice is the real deal. It is everything it should be: thin but not too thin, crispy, not greasy and the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. Plus, the sauce is excellent, and the cheese isn't too salty either. A solid, delicious slice that hits all the right notes at a reasonable price, and for me to give it the thumbs up says a lot. I highly recommended this place to anyone craving an authentic NYC slice.

Aug 2025 Update: just had some red slices that totally hit the spot. Crust was a perfect crisp and cheese at the right doneness. It seems like they've refined the productA new pizza spot with seating(!!), good vibes, and excellent pizza. The crust was perfect on both the red and white slices. Nice well-done style and sauce and cheese balance was perfect. Also got the Crispy Caesar which had nice texture with the roasted chickpea. This may quickly become my go-to in the neighborhood

A must try!! The salads were unassuming and yet so delicious and well crafted. The pizza had such a rich flavor and the white pizza with the ricotta… yum!! I will go out of my way to get this pizza again and make this my go-to pizza shop in NYC. Vegan options too!!
