★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have no idea what West African food is supposed to taste like. With that in mind, I ordered the beans and plantains/fried bananas and then asked if he had any rice because I typically eat rice when I have beans. He said yes and pointed to something on the menu that also had fish with it. So I ordered the rice with chicken. The person I was with ordered a goat meat stew. The rice was flavorful, had subtle spices and herbs that I cannot identify. The beans looks like a black eye pea. They had a slight smoky flavor to it. Not as strong smoky as I had in Belize, which was cooked on an open fire. Zach gives me the thought that these were also cooked on a charcoal fire if that is possible in New Jersey. The fried plantains were exactly as I expected sweet, very sweet. The chicken was good, mostly dark meat. That means that the chicken was flavorful. Yes the chicken was dry. We got there at 11:30 in the morning. The food reminded me of something that I would get while traveling in Central America. And that was exactly what I was looking for. Why did I give the atmosphere two stars, because I believe the place is more centered around takeout food than wine and dine. Yes if I am ever in the area again, I would strongly consider going again. I have no idea how much each item cost because there were no prices on the menu. The three items plus water and juice with a 15% tip came to a couple pennies under $60. One last thing to mention, I did try the goat, and there was a moderate to strong dried fish flavor.
August 21 · R BriceThe food was totally worth the drive from Malvern, PA. Good music, great services, kind people...the washroom was fairly clean with water and hand soap available (that was a huge plus). As for the Chofi, it's authentic Ghanaian Chofi for whoever is wondering how good it was. P.S. they are moving to a new location, please find them if you're craving some authentic Ghanaian delicacies.
August 01 · MarwaIf you are looking for a Ghanaian food that takes you straight to Ghana, it’s this place. The food was amazing and a lot. I will recommend this place. The Waakye, fufui, banku, tilapia and fried yams are amazing i almost forgot they have Jollof and other dishes as well.
January 30 · Naa AdzaaSo this is actually my favorite ghanian place in NJ, their portions are so much, I get three servings from a meal, there is so much proteins with different varieties offered, and the food tastes nice. One thing I don’t like abt this place was the man that picks up the calls for takeouts, he is very rude and has no business taking to-go calls, has no customer service skills, and after being rude ends the call on you even after you calmly state what you’re ordering. Pls get someone else to handle the phone. I like coming here and don’t want to stop, I’ve also invited several of my friends here as well.Great place.
