Bay Deli Introduce
The New York City deli is more than just a place to grab a sandwich; it’s a vital institution, and Bay Deli, located in the heart of Staten Island, is a quintessential example of this urban necessity. Serving the local community at 680 Bay St, this establishment functions as the neighborhood's daily pit stop, offering an extensive menu that covers everything from crucial morning fuel to satisfying midday and late-night meals. As a traditional Deli, Bay Deli’s entire operation is geared towards speed, affordability, and meeting the foundational food needs of a busy New Yorker’s life.
This establishment is specifically tailored for efficiency and value. Its entire setup is centered on the concept of a Quick visit, making it an ideal choice for Staten Islanders rushing to work, grabbing a meal between shifts, or simply needing a swift, budget-conscious meal. The deli's popularity stems from its incredible variety, covering all the expected staples and more. The menu is a testament to the classic New York deli experience, loaded with options for every craving, from traditional Italian-style cold cuts and cheeses to hot grill items and hearty platters. The consistent commitment to low prices, as highlighted by loyal customers, makes Bay Deli a cornerstone of affordability in the Bay Street area, a true local asset where the value of your dollar stretches further.
The extensive selection of meats and cheeses allows for countless custom sandwich and wrap combinations. The available Cold Cuts alone are varied and of high quality, featuring staples like flavorful Roast Beef, savory Beef Bologna, and popular poultry options such as Blaze Chicken Breast and Oven Roasted Chicken. For those who enjoy turkey, the selection is exceptionally broad, offering Turkey Ham, a delightful Oven Roasted Turkey, and specialty flavors like the richly seasoned Salsaleto Turkey, sweet Maple Honey Turkey, spicy Jerk Turkey, and the classic simple slice. This variety ensures that every customer can craft a personalized meal, whether seeking something lean or a robust, highly seasoned option.
Equally impressive is the selection of Cheeses, which moves beyond the standard American slice to include options that cater to diverse tastes. Patrons can choose from bold flavors like Pepper Jack, sharp Provolone, classic Cheddar, versatile Mozzarella, and a truly New York favorite, Muenster (or as locals often spell and pronounce it, Mounster), alongside Queso Blanco. This focus on variety is a deliberate effort to ensure that any sandwich can be perfectly paired with the right texture and flavor of cheese, further enhancing the customer’s custom deli experience. The ability to mix and match from this generous selection makes Bay Deli a creative hub for sandwich aficionados.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Typical 'hood deli complete with late night crack window. Decent coffee ($1.50 for large) and a turkey sandwich fully loaded on a roll is $4. It was a good sandwich. The less than tidy conditions along with the Bums and crackheads bring the place down though. But again, it's a ghetto deli. It serves the purpose.
September 10 · Jimmy MangoFirst of all the man cooking the sandwich did not use gloves and he takes the lettuce and tomatoes from an open container in the refrigerator! ( greatful for refrigerator) Then he comes out from the cooking area and he has no apron on and he puts his pinky finger in his mouth and touches his dentures!then goes back to the food, with out washing his hands! and they talk about the customers in their language, right in your face and laugh! I hope the health dept gives them a vist!!! Nasty and rude!
