★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We tried this restaurant as convenient and close option from our hotel. Didn't expect too much since this gem korean restaurant is quite far from actual Korean town. I am so glad that we decided to eat here because foods taste was amazing, the owner/manager looking gentleman was extremely nice and kind with his service. Foods came out super quick and fresh, the portion of Stone pot bibimbap was incredibly great! Supreme galbi burger, as my picture shows it was gigantic, juicy with full flavor!!Highly recommend here if you are around. And i will definitely come back for next NYC visit.
June 24 · Lucy KlenderWe went on a Monday and got seated right away since there was no wait. We were excited to try the highly-rated Korean food and ordered tofu jap chae, janchi guk-su (party noodle soup), and the bulgogi bowl. However, we were disappointed that only kimchi was served as a side dish, which is unusual for an authentic Korean restaurant. The food looked nice, but the jap chae and bulgogi bowl were both too sweet and salty, and tasted the same. The party noodle soup was bland. There was also a lot of noise, banging, and yelling from the kitchen, which was disruptive. The waiter was eating during his shift and didn’t seem to care about the noise. We had to call him over several times to get our check.Overall, I gave them two stars for the food presentation and the portion size, but the noise and inattentive service made for an unpleasant experience. We won’t be coming back. And FYI, they do not offer small side dishes (banchan), only kimchi and so little of it! No refill btw.
July 06 · Victoria UngThere are so few mom 'n' pop spots like these left in Manhattan, and you typically have to venture to the edges of the island in either direction to find them.Hats off to Bulbap for keeping it real: large portions, low prices and solid flavors. The Tofu Bites were deceptively flavorful and crisp. The Jae Yuk Bowl could have been spicier, but the creative Galbi Burger was like the gorgeous happa offspring of the most beautiful Korean and American couple you've ever met. Yum-diddly-um!
July 11 · Josephine LeeDefinitely a nice little spot in Hell's Kitchen. The day I went was a little warm inside but other than that its clean and is a nice atmosphere. The Dolsot (hot stone bowl) bimbimbap had crispy rice at the bottom from the hot stone. I love all the veggies that come in this bowl. Once mixed in with the Bulgogi (which is the protein I got) and the sauce that is given on the side the combination is powerful. I also got the Kimchi Fried rice which was my first time getting that dish. My protein of choice was buldak which was chicken that had its own little seasoning. Kimchi Fried rice was really well made. I like how the Kimchi's sourness is reduced when cooked. I also got the Yang Yum (sweet and spicy sauce) chicken nuggets. I personally would've liked for the sauce to have a little bit more of a kick but it was still enjoyable. This place serves big portions and for the price, it's a win. It was one man show when I came in. Even though he was the only one serving that night, he was always attentive.
October 11 · Kimberly RodriguezWe came here for dinner and had the chicken wings, fish tacos, bulgogi bibimbap, and pork kimchi jaeyuk bowl. The chicken wings were great! And the fish in the fish taco was crispy and delicious. I found my bibimbap to be lacking, however. The hot bowl didn't make the rice crispy around the bottom/edges, and the beef itself was fine, but not delicious. I thought the pork dish was good. Presentation was also very good, and the atmosphere was very cute and cozy.
