The focus on authenticity and quality shines through in a few key dishes that have earned the restaurant its loyal following.
First and foremost, the Bund Soup Dumplings are a non-negotiable must-try. These delicate, juicy dumplings, filled with a savory broth and tender meat, are a true specialty of the house. They are an experience in themselves, and customers consistently rave about their delicious flavor and perfect texture. For a different but equally satisfying dumpling experience, the Jumbo Pan Fried Pork Buns are an excellent choice. They are known for their crispy bottom and fluffy interior, filled with a flavorful pork mixture.
Beyond the dumplings, the noodle soups are a highlight. The Roast Duck Noodle Soup and the Beef Stew Noodle Soup are both highly recommended. The roast duck soup offers a rich, aromatic broth with tender duck meat, while the beef stew noodle soup is a hearty and comforting choice with slow-cooked, tender beef. These soups are perfect for a chilly day or whenever you need a warm, soulful meal.
For a different kind of flavor, the Cold Appetizers are an intriguing and refreshing option. The Garlic Cucumber Salad is a light and crisp choice, and the Cold Sesame Noodles offer a classic, nutty, and savory flavor. These small plates are perfect for sharing or for starting your meal on a fresh note.
Finally, it’s worth noting the Roast Peking Duck Bao and the Pork Belly Bao. These small, fluffy buns filled with rich, flavorful meats are a fantastic way to sample more of the restaurant’s delicious offerings. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I always got takeout from here, but I wanted to try it in person! It was so good! The staff was incredibly attentive and sweet. We got some chicken soup dumplings, noodles and some pan friend chicken dumplings too. So yummy! I will be coming back!
August 01 · Angie ContrerasWe ordered the Szechuan chicken cold dish last night and were surprised to be served a dish primarily covered in peanut sauce, as the menu doesn't mention peanuts at all for this dish. We asked the server who confirmed that this was the correct dish and that peanuts weren't mentioned on the menu. She didn't try to correct this, still charging us for it. We didn't end up eating it but even my partner's duck wasn't great, being dry and lacking in flavor. The soup dumplings were okay, but overall, the experience wasn't worth $60.
May 07 · Hailey Spragueif i could give this place 12 stars out of 10 i would! i placed a delivery order for the wonton soup, wood ear mushroom salad, and beef and pepper noodle soup. everything came fresh and delicious, and way earlier than expected. the noodles had a homemade texture that i really enjoyed.i was feeling super sick, so i asked for more wonton soup broth in exchange for a free promotion item. they were super generous and gave me both! love their service.
March 06 · J KJune 2025 Update:New menu, new staff. Must be new chefs in the back as the food tasted different. Pork chop over rice was no longer served with a marinated egg and pickles, but with egg fried rice. The pork chop was no longer satiating. Last year it came out freshly prepped and juicy with a lot of flavor. Now it's too lean and bland, like it was never seasoned. I gave the food here 5 stars last year and they set the bar really high. Now it's at 3 stars.------Past review:An unexpected contender for best dish at Bund Dumpling House is their fried pork chop over rice (Taiwanese style). This is not on their regular menu, but on a separately laminated side menu. Got this tip straight from their friendly staff after I had already ordered their delicious dumplings and was looking for something more satiating. Was told to eat the pork chop first while it was still hot and crispy.
June 02 · IanThe food is tasty here. I really like the pork soup dumplings. But the salted chicken was very yummy, pork belly bao tender, and the scallion pancakes are the best mix of crunchy texture and gooey inside. The only thing I haven't really liked was the seafood soup dumplings, but that could just be preference. The place is small. But we had no problem finding a seat for lunch on a weekday. Salted chicken this time was definitely pork.
