★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Cafe Pri’s new store along Metropolitan Avenue is a fresh new spot for good Filipino fare in the neighbourhood where Ridgewood, Maspeth, and Middle Village meet! We checked it out and stopped by for some takeout lunch (08/11/2025). They offer a nice cozy straightforward uncluttered menu. The lumpia and the chicken pansit are really good. They reminded us of the yummy traditional lumpiang shanghai and pansit sotanghon of Manila’s panciterias. The pansit though could use a slice or two of calamansi on the side. The longsilog is good as well. Serving sizes for the bang-for-the-buck items feel generous. The lightly-sweetened hibiscus iced tea is a must-try, light and refreshing.
August 12 · J. S. JeanjaquetI was so eager to check out this new spot! While, I was sad to learn Li Wan wasn’t here anymore, I went there since I was a kid and I hope the family is doing well. That being said, I am glad to see a new business in the area and we really don’t have Filipino options in Ridgewood or Middle Village.Ok so the meal.. I ordered an ube latte, lumpia and ube coconut pancakes. Everything was very good and I’m so glad I got to check them out. For anyone that has not yet had lumpia, it’s essentially a Filipino spring roll but thin like a cigar and filled with ground/minced pork and veg. They’re absolutely delicious and each place and person makes them just a little bit differently. Ube is purple sweet yam. It has a mild sweetness like a sweet potato and is very tasty in lots of different Filipino drinks, and desserts, or in my case today, pancakes!I would encourage everyone to give them a try, they’re open early enough for breakfast and they serve breakfast items like the pancakes I mentioned but also eggs and sausage if you want to try them out and still have some familiar classics. A welcomed new restaurant to the area.
April 26 · Mary NaughtonDelicious food and great vibes!I randomly stopped in and was honestly impressed — the food was so flavorful and fresh. I tried the noodle bowl with veggies and chicken and it was amazing. Perfectly seasoned, satisfying, and just comforting in the best way. Also had a protein smoothie that was super tasty and not too sweet. Definitely coming back!
April 15 · Elena GrigorevaCafé Pri’s second location opened last week in this quiet corner of Middle Village, Queens. This Filipino American café has really high ratings for their Brooklyn location in Yelp and Google, so I was particularly excited to try them out. We got the below:Medium Ice Ube Matcha Latte ($7): really delicious latte with a smooth matcha and ube flavor. This was a bargain at $7 imo.Lumpia ($8): there was 6 pieces per order, and it was good. I’ve had better lumpia elsewhere, but these were solid.Pork Sisig Bowl ($18): my friend really enjoyed this bowl. I had a taste and thought it was good but felt it could have benefited from a splash of lemon juice to really liven up the taste.Tapsilog Bowl ($14): thinly sliced, cured and fried beef on a bed of rice with cucumbers, tomatoes and fried egg. The beef was very tasty and the portions were good.Tosilog Bowl ($14): sweet and savory Filipino sausages on a bed of rice with cucumbers, tomatoes and fried egg. The sausages weren’t overly sweet, which I appreciated but felt that there was just too much fat with every bite.Typically, Filipino breakfast dishes come with sides like a vinegar dip or banana ketchup—neither of which were offered or provided. It’s a small detail, but one that could have really elevated the flavors.Since we had a few picky eaters (kids) with us, we also ordered a Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($4), Chicken Tenders ($9), and French Fries ($4). The kids absolutely devoured the grilled cheese and chicken tenders, which speaks for itself! All in all, it was a decent experience. There’s definitely potential here, and I’m hopeful they’ll smooth out some of the kinks as they settle in. I’d be open to coming back, especially if I’m in the area again.
April 22 · AmeliaI've lived in Middle Village for a little over 2 years and the one thing I've learned about this neighborhood is that they value community. The previous spot was here for YEARS...and although change is hard, this change felt a bit abrupt but the experience helped me welcome Café Pri.I'm a latte lover and I usually travel about 7-10minutes for a latte and a place to sit and do a little work.Today was my first time here and even before walking in the doors I felt welcomed. They had a set up outside letting you know they are here. The owners, a couple were at the register, greeted me.I LOVE places that welcome their customers like family and that is exactly how I felt. Like family.I ordered a latte with regular milk. The coffee was delightful. I usually put 2 Splenda's which generally delute the strength of the espresso, but it actually complimented it.They serve breakfast, lunch AND dinner.I can't wait to bring my family over for a meal. And now round 2.Welcome to Middle Village Café Pri!
