If I could give 0 stars I would. I placed an order through DoorDash at 8am to be delivered at 12:00 for my lunch. They knew about my order for 4 hours and when I called asking where my food was when it was supposed to be delivered the lady on the phone gave me wild attitude and said it wasn’t ready and won’t be done for another 30 minutes. She then told me it was not her problem and to take it up with DoorDash. so unless you like restaurants who blatantly lie to your face and then blame you for their incompetence, i would highly suggest you avoid this terrible joke of an establishment - Chris McGovern

What is Worth Choosing

For a New York local looking to experience the most authentic and celebrated items at Cafe Tinto, starting with the coffee is a must. Order a Large Coffee or a Cafe Tinto Cold Brew to experience their specialty Colombian roast. This serves as the perfect foundation for tasting the traditional menu items.

When it comes to food, the items most worth choosing fall into three distinct categories:

  • The Savory Starter: The Empanadas are consistently a top seller and highly recommended. These crispy, golden, and gluten-free pockets of savory filling—beef and potato being a classic—are ideal for a quick, flavorful snack.
  • The Signature Bakery Treat: Choose a Pandebono or Almojabana. These cheesy, soft breads, made with yuca starch, offer a unique texture and flavor that is a hallmark of Colombian baking and pair perfectly with their coffee.
  • The Hearty Meal: For a more substantial experience, the Calentao Bowl is a phenomenal Colombian brunch option. This filling platter of mixed rice and homestyle beans, combined with fried egg, sweet plantains, and crispy Chicharrón, delivers an authentic and comforting taste of a Colombian breakfast. Alternatively, the Americano Sandwich on their homemade Pan Sobao roll provides a Colombian twist on the classic New York breakfast sandwich.

While the food offerings are highly praised for their authenticity and taste, it is important for prospective customers to be aware of service experiences, particularly concerning delivery and customer interactions, as highlighted in some public feedback. However, for those seeking a true Colombian coffee and bakery experience in Westchester, the unique and authentic menu at Cafe Tinto remains a compelling reason to visit this local Port Chester establishment.
