Choosing Catchika is an opportunity to support a unique local business and embark on a new culinary adventure. While some reviews note a work-in-progress atmosphere and menu, the core concept and potential are what make it worth choosing. The cafe's strength lies in its ability to create a nostalgic and authentic experience, particularly through its collaborations with other vendors. These pop-ups transform the sidewalk into a lively Filipino street food scene, an experience that is hard to find elsewhere in the neighborhood. For those with Filipino heritage, this provides a touching, reminiscent moment. For others, it's a chance to taste and experience a new culture.
The prices, while a point of contention for some who note the use of frozen ingredients, can be seen as a trade-off for the convenience and unique offerings in the area. The positive feedback on the strong, sweet Taro Bubble Tea and the great food from the pop-up vendors highlights the potential and existing quality of the offerings. It's a place that asks for a little patience and an open mind, and in return, it offers a distinct and memorable experience. By choosing Catchika, you're not just buying a drink or a snack; you're supporting a women-owned, Asian-owned business that is working to build a community and share its culture with Woodside. It's a promising spot that is only expected to improve, making it a place to watch and visit again.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Newish Filipino café serving bubble tea, milkshakes, smoothies, and rolled ice cream, along with a small snack menu consisting of Takoyaki, gyoza, hot dogs, Kwek-kwek, siomai and sliders. Yes, on my first visit here I did find the menu to be a mishmash of various Asian influences and had my doubts on how well the food would be executed. So, I ended up only ordering a Taro Bubble Tea on my first visit. The Taro flavor was very pronounced, and the drink was very sweet. This drink I felt, was more in style of the Filipino palate where drinks and desserts tend to very sweet. On my second visit here, I noticed a small crowd in front of the cafe. I quickly realized that Catchika also showcases other food vendors. I think this is where they really shine-- in their pop-up collab with other Filipino vendors. Currently, Gunita and Merienda NYC are the vendors being showcased and they are only available on Friday evenings and weekends. The menu for the collab features Filipino street food (tusok-tusok) like fishballs, kikiam, and shiomai. They also offer some items with a modern twist like Sisig fries and Humba Baos. My friends and I watched them grilling and preparing our order and we ate standing on the sidewalk with other customers. The food was great but the whole experience hit a nostalgic note for me as I remember doing this many times as a young kid growing up in the Philippines.I’m not sure which vendors will be there this weekend, but we are already planning on stopping by to check it out.
June 08 · AmeliaI know their business has just started, but honestly there's a lot of works need to be done. However I like their concept and hope they keep improving...Here's my honest review.Atmosphere was miserable, I'm sorry. There was no music and you just hear sound of machines, and there's no concept with the interior... Some random pictures made it look like grandma's living room.I understand they had to start with the low budget but it could've been better if you put on music and the interior was more consistent.Food was ok.We ordered Siumai ($4 for 4pcs) and Takoyaki ($4 for 4pcs). It's a bit pricy considering it's a frozen staff, which is my guess though. I'm not against to providing frozen food. It's just about the balance of price, atmosphere, and food quality. With better vibes, I wouldn't feel it's pricey.Beverage was ok.There's only 4 choice of flavors for Bubble tea. They don't have regular milk tea, so we had to order Thai milk tea. Tea was ok but the quality of the bubble was bad. I couldn't finish it.Right now, they can't beat Fay Da bakery for the overall experience. But we don't have any other place to provide Takoyaki or Siumai as snacks in the neighbor... So I give 2 stars hoping their success and updating my rating in the future 😇
May 09 · N SThe milk tea is so good specially the pearl/bubble so soft and perfect in its texture. I tried Taro Milk tea and my kids loved the rolled ice cream. They also have some Filipino rice cakes.
April 03 · Ma PiedalI decided to check this place out after reading the reviews and I found it nice! The decor is inviting and bubbly and the food was worth the price you were getting for it. If you're looking for a small snack on a budget, this is the place to go!
