What is Worth Choosing
In a city overflowing with bars and nightlife options, the decision of where to spend your hard-earned money and time often comes down to authenticity and comfort. Celtic Cove is emphatically worth choosing because it embodies the spirit of the classic New York neighborhood bar—a genuine local hub built on relationships, quality service, and unpretentious fun.
Firstly, the human element is a major draw. New Yorkers appreciate friendly faces, and the reviews consistently highlight the exceptional service. Customers feel valued, noting the "nice bartenders" and a polite, friendly owner. This level of personalized, attentive service is the "key to my hole," as one highly satisfied patron put it. This kind of dedicated staff elevates the experience far beyond what you might find at an impersonal, corporate bar, ensuring you are treated like a local from your very first visit.
Secondly, the combination of offerings strikes the perfect balance for a relaxed outing. For those who enjoy a bit of light competition while socializing, the presence of a "Cool pool table in the back" is a significant draw, though newcomers are playfully warned to "beware of sharks, y'all!" This sense of playful camaraderie and engaging bar games contributes greatly to the casual and cozy atmosphere. Furthermore, the capacity for the music to "vary depending on the juke box and the bartender" means the vibe is always dynamic and tailored to the people in the room, never stale or overly programmed.
The bar's dedication to its core product—drinks—is also evident in its reputation for a "Great beer selection" and "Great cocktails." Coupled with the availability of Happy hour drinks, Celtic Cove ensures that patrons receive value for their dollar, a vital consideration in NYC. The policy of allowing outside food is another customer-centric decision, offering maximum flexibility. If you are craving a specific local bite from one of Flushing's famous eateries, you can easily bring it in to enjoy with your favorite beverage, blending two great local experiences into one.
Finally, the bar’s inclusive nature, highlighted by its Wheelchair accessible entrance, and its reputation as a comfortable spot for groups and multi-generational locals, solidifies its role as a welcoming community anchor on Francis Lewis Boulevard. For a reliably cozy, friendly, and entertaining bar experience in Flushing, Celtic Cove is the clear choice.

May 26 · Joe VignaWow this place is truly awesome. Bartenders are the ultimate. Service is the key to my hole. Cool pool table in the back (beware of sharks, y'all). Music varies depending on the juke box and the bartender. Really enjoyed this place and wish I had taken a picture of the gorgeous lamps above the bar and under the ceiling fans.
November 14 · John KleinUnder New Ownership....great little neighborhood "watering hole"🍺. Friendly courteous bartenders, dart board, pool table , jukebox.Always good times when I am there!!
November 09 · Joe FortunatoGreat local "dive" bar lol. Good atmosphere, pool table, dart board, jukebox, TVs, bar area and tables. Nicole was a great bartender. Not over crowded, but enough people there that y has some life. We don't go out that often anymore, but it's good to have a local watering hole in the neighborhood when we do.They have basic bar snacks that get the job done while drinking, but not a gourmet menu... Fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, etc
March 16 · Rob DWhat a great place to visit in my old stomping grounds to really feel home again. Friendly and inviting staff and atmosphere, lots of laughs with friends and newly met regulars. A nice place to settle into while being able to take a break from the noise snd fast pace of the city. The view from the front door this visit was well appreciated.
