What is Worth Choosing?
When planning your visit to Daheen Wang Mandoo, there is a clear star of the show that every New Yorker should try: the signature Wang Mandoo itself. The King Dumpling, whether you choose the savory Pork or the distinctive Kimchi filling, is what sets this establishment apart. Customers frequently highlight the excellent quality of the steamed varieties. One review notes that the Steamed dumplings & steamed kimchi dumplings are so good! They were perfectly steamed & moist inside. The appreciation for the thin dumpling skins and the vegetable-heavy stuffing suggests a lighter, more refreshing take on the traditional dumpling, which allows you to enjoy more without feeling overly heavy. While a single, dissenting review warned against the quality of the frozen and single-piece dumplings, the general consensus, especially around the steamed varieties, is overwhelmingly positive. The Kimchi Giant Dumpling is particularly recommended for those who appreciate the spicy, tangy depth of fermented kimchi paired with the soft, generous dough wrapper.
The overall value proposition—a traditional, king-sized, and satisfying meal with quick service and a casual vibe—makes Daheen Wang Mandoo a mandatory visit in Flushing. It caters perfectly to New York's need for high-quality, authentic, and fast food, whether you're taking a full family out for a quick, budget-friendly dinner or just stopping by for a comforting solo lunch. For New Yorkers looking to explore the depth of Korean street food culture, Daheen Wang Mandoo is your friendly, local connection to the culinary royalty of the Wang Mandoo. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Worst horrible mandoo I ever had. I don't usually post review unless it's really good or really bad. $3 each both kimchi and meat mandoo, $20 frozen mandoo is also really bad, please don't waste money and time!!
June 29 · Yoo LeeSteamed dumplings & steamed kimchi dumplings are so good! They were perfectly steamed & moist inside. Quite light (Which means you can eat more hahaha) since the dumpling skins are thin and the stuffing has more veg and sweet potato starch noodle than meat. One personal disappointment was the dipping sauce is too sweet for me. Looking forward to try other menu items next time!
October 07 · NaYeon KimOnly tried the snack items. The steamed kimchi mandoo are fantastic! It's skin is thin and it holds a perfect proportion of stuffing to skin. Their spicy tuna kimbab is good-- standard size and filling with the usual pickled veggies. Their buns are a little strange as I've still not picked up the knack for buns stuffed with starch (potato or mung? Not sure.). I would recommend the other items instead.Prices are average for Flushing and the shop is pleasantly bright and roomy. I believe their specialty is soup but I didn't try this time.
June 14 · xinchun heMandoo. That's korean for "Dude, get the dumplings."So, the word mandoo means dumplings and wong means king in korean, and that's exactly what you should get when you come here.I usually come here for dumplings to-go and nothing else. I must say, I've been to many chinese dumpling joints around flushing and even had some homemade ones, but this place really does make some incredibly good tasting dumplings. It's not really the meat or the the insides that are special, but I find the skin of the dumplings to be much more unique. The taste doesn't exactly follow the taste and looks of a typical dumpling skin, it's much thicker and has a chewiness to it, which is nice. Maybe it's a korean version, I don't know. Recommendation, grab the original. Originals never disappoint. The inside is nice, bright and very "positive", at least that's how I feel. I never stay, but if I find something else good on the menu, I just might stay to chow.
August 10 · Kawang Wong (Kawang)We came here for a family function for dinner and it was not bad considering its a chinese buffet. some of the better dishes tend to be attacked immediately and gone within 3 mins by chinese moms who take enough for the rest of their table. Peaking duck is done great and at your discretion you can throw her a washington. they also have sushi which gets a pretty good turnover. At night they also have oysters which makes it even more worthwild. Surprisingly it is pretty clean and some of the seats are in pretty nice areas except you look into more buildings in flushing.
