Located in the heart of the Lower East Side, it has gained international recognition for its unique and highly innovative approach to cocktails and food. In "The Coop," the drinks are a playful and masterful deconstruction of classic culinary dishes, a concept the bar calls "hacking design." Imagine a cocktail that tastes exactly like a French Toast, a Japanese Cold Noodle, or even a Cold Pizza. This is the kind of creativity that has put Double Chicken Please on the map. As a New American restaurant and a chicken restaurant, the food menu is equally impressive. The fried chicken sandwich, in particular, has a reputation for being one of the best in the city. The atmosphere is a perfect mix of cozy, trendy, and upscale, creating a vibrant and welcoming space for all. This spot is popular with groups, tourists, and is notably LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space, emphasizing its commitment to creating an inclusive and fun environment for everyone.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The fried chicken sandwich was probably the best fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. All of the cocktails were fun, inventive, and beautifully made. There were three of us, and we each tried three cocktails, so we got a pretty good sense of the menu. The pizza cocktail was a standout and surprisingly delicious.Yes, the line is long, but it is worth it. We went early, put our name down, grabbed a drink at another bar, and came back when our table was ready. It worked out perfectly.Overall, both the food and drinks were excellent, and the experience was a lot of fun. Highly recommend if you can snag a spot.
August 25 · Jennifer HIncredible! Was luckily enough to get in on a Tuesday (waited about an hour). The drinks were more than perfect. I got the French toast and could not believe how much it tasted like the real thing. Food was great too - I had the tofu sandwich since I don’t eat meat. Worth the wait!
August 31 · Ujesh VoraCool place, we were greeted warmly. It’s best to either get a reservation or get there before they open. The wait for the chicken coupe was about a 3hr wait, the wait for the bar not so much. 15 mins or so the atmosphere was a vibe , good playlist . The drinks on the menu are based off of cartoon characters , I chose the what's up doc which was based off bugs bunny. My friend chose the space dog which was based on lilo & stitch. Interesting food menu but we were able to find some bites. I like how playful the menu is. So we went with the lobster shiso tempura and sticky wings. The lobster shiso tempura was amazing and colorful. Sticky wings were not my steez , I think I would of liked them more crispy. Nonetheless it was a great experience and we cannot wait to go back and get the full real deal. See ya soon!Went back to have some more and we weren’t disappointed at all! The oysters are some of the best I’ve had ever! Just wow! And the chicken and the egg also great! I love how everything is so curated initially !
September 14 · Dalisha PThere was already a line formed at 4:30 on a summer Saturday afternoon (opens at 5). My group had just missed the first seating so had to wait ~1 hour 45 minutes. We were able to sit in the front section, Free Range, while we waited which offers different cocktails and food (small bites) vs the main seating area, The Coop. At The Coop, Key Lime Pie was the all around favorite, absolutely delicious. Cold Soba Noodles and Custard Bun were good too. I didn’t love, French Toast, Shrimp Ceviche, Cold Pizza, Mango Sticky Rice, and Waldorf Salad. Fried chicken sandwiches were massive and delicious.
July 28 · Jenny ChuWe did a bang bang here because we put ourselves on the wait list for the back end which has a different selection of drinks and food than the front. When we got there, luckily there was a standing table open which was fine by me. I think they took pity on us because of our age. Most people in their crowd were half our age.Delicious choices and some memorable names. We hang fun figuring out the different cartoon characters while we drank. Only towards the end did we realise all the cartoon characters were pictured on the wall.
