★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a fantastic restaurant . It's a bit noisy and truth be told , I'd rather sit outside than be part of every other conversation -- BUT that didn't take away from the amazing tasting food they had. The chicken Kabab was SO good. The eggplant dish for apps was amazing. The drinks were fabulous. A must return and certainly a reasonable price for a nice kosher restaurant
August 24 · jocelyn hermanWe had a great experience at this restaurant! The portions were really generous — you definitely won’t leave hungry. The food was delicious and felt freshly made. The interior is beautifully designed, cozy and modern at the same time, which made the whole atmosphere really pleasant. On top of that, the service was excellent — super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to!
June 18 · Hanna DovratGot it—here’s a more direct, grounded version that keeps it authentic and avoids anything overly flowery:⸻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“Incredible Food, Warm Service—Finally, a Modern Persian Spot That Delivers”I’ve been to just about every Persian restaurant in NYC, and this is easily one of the best—fresh, modern, and confident in what it’s doing. The koobideh and barg were excellent—tender, full of flavor, and cooked exactly right. You can tell the ingredients are high quality, and nothing felt rushed or overdone. Just really solid execution on two classic dishes that are often phoned in elsewhere.Dessert was just as strong. The baklava was crisp and balanced—not drenched in syrup like some places do—and the Persian-style tiramisu was a surprise hit. Light, not too sweet, with just the right touch of saffron and spice. The space feels cool without trying too hard, and the staff couldn’t have been more generous or welcoming. There’s real hospitality here—not just good service, but people who care that you’re having a good experience. If you’re looking for something Persian in Manhattan that actually feels fresh and different, this is it. I’ll definitely be back.
May 18 · Emily SEshel is a beautiful new addition to the neighborhood, offering a cozy ambiance and dishes that transport you to the heart of Persia. The interior is welcoming — unfortunately, the same can't be said for the host who seated us. His gruff attitude felt uninviting, almost as if we'd interrupted something rather than come to enjoy a meal. The menu is on the smaller side, but we found some gems. The Tahdig with Gheymeh was absolutely delicious — rich, well-spiced, and generously portioned (honestly, enough for one person alone). The Koobideh was decent, though oddly spicy, which is a departure from its traditional, milder flavor profile. The biggest letdown? The cocktails. We ordered two and waited far too long — despite the restaurant being nearly empty. They finally arrived with our food, which isn’t ideal timing, and the taste was... strange. Off-balance, confusing, and far too pricey given the experience.
August 02 · Maryam BojarianI have been in search of good Persian food in the city and was blown away when I recently dined at Eshel. From the warm welcoming and gracious service to the delicious dishes and festive cocktails, everything was outstanding.I enjoyed a martini with a twist followed by a chocolate martini. Yum and perfect! We ordered family style and shared everything, which was perfect so I had a nice variety of options on my plate. We had the gormeh sabzi and gaymeh tadhig, kale Caesar salad, joojeh kebab (omg best ever, so juicy and flavorful without being over seasoned), sultani kebabs (both the barg and koobideh were outstanding). The polo was delicious and the yogurt with dill sauce and roasted tomatoes were a perfect addition. The tiramisu and the baklava were so good and a happy ending to our exceptional feast.I can’t thank the team at Eshel enough for such a delicious meal. I can’t wait to go back!I highly recommend Eshel for authentic, delicious, excellent quality Persian food.
