What is Worth Choosing
For New York area residents, Euro Eatery & Market offers a distinct culinary niche that makes it a compelling choice over standard local eateries. The primary reason to visit is to experience the high-demand, authentic Balkan and Albanian specialties, which provide a welcome change from more common European cuisines.
The Qebapa (often served in an order of ten, for $14.99) is highly recommended. These seasoned, grilled minced meat sausages are a staple of Balkan street food and are frequently praised in customer reviews for their flavor and authentic preparation. Paired with a side of Kajmak (a traditional Balkan cheese spread) and their freshly made bread, this is arguably the restaurant's signature, must-try dish.
Equally essential is the Burek. Available in multiple varieties (Meat, Cheese, Spinach—often priced around $22.50 for a full pie, or available by the piece), this multi-layered phyllo pastry is a hallmark of Balkan baking. While customer feedback can be mixed on texture, when executed well, it is a flaky, hearty, and immensely satisfying comfort food that tastes “just like home” for those familiar with the cuisine.
Beyond these ethnic highlights, Euro Eatery & Market is an excellent choice for a quick, filling, and value-focused meal. The Shawarma Sandwiches (Chicken or Beef, both $5.99) and Shawarma Platters (both $11.99) offer a robust and satisfying alternative to typical deli fare. The small breakfast options, such as the 2 Eggs on a Roll ($2.00) or 2 Eggs and Cheese on Roll ($2.50), provide an extremely affordable start to the day. Finally, the ability to browse the attached European Market after a meal to pick up imported Balkan and Italian treats—from specialty sweets like Baklava and Tresleche to authentic cheeses and cold cuts—transforms a simple dining trip into a unique grocery and cultural excursion. This combination of distinct cuisine and retail novelty solidifies Euro Eatery & Market as a worthy and unique culinary stop on Yonkers Avenue.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The burek is too doughy, not enough spinach or meat & soggy. Ordered about half a dozen times to give them another chance but all the same. Whats the point of making burek if you’re going to do this? Sad.
June 14 · V KastratiAbsolutely awful experience here. From the beginning there were red flags. When I walked in there were a few women at the register and they didn’t acknowledge me. Finally, one of them asked what I want, I asked for a menu and she said they have chicken sandwich or burger. And a few foods on a board written in Albanian. I asked what they were and she just said sausage. So essentially I was limited to the two sandwiches and whatever sausage. I asked about the chicken sandwich because I saw pictures of sandwiches online that looked good. She said it was chicken, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, ketchup. I ordered it but without ketchup because I hate ketchup. I saw her grab a hero bread so I asked if they could scoop the inside of the bread and she said no. When I got the sandwich it looked weak. Barely anything going on in there. Pickles and tomato were missing and they put ketchup. I didn’t notice the ketchup until I took a bite and I got this gross sweet taste. The lettuce was old terrible. So I told her they put ketchup on and I wanted to change to something else since honestly the sandwich was bad. She obliged and let me have a plate of rice and chicken in cream sauce. They have some already prepared hot foods which I only found out about after I ordered and looked around. Maybe she could have told me about that lunch food when I asked about the menu?Anyway I got the plate and it was so salty. The grilled chicken itself was a little too salty but the yellow cream sauce was way too salty. I had to remove the sauce with a napkin. The rice was pretty good but chicken was just too salty. Now I have a stomachache as well. Feel terrible. Avoid this place!
June 16 · Jared GreenspanI was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. One of the biggest issues I had was the pricing. The prices listed online were completely different from what I was charged in-store—significantly higher. It felt misleading and honestly pretty frustrating. On top of that, the portion sizes were surprisingly small for what they charge. I left feeling like I had overpaid for what was essentially a snack, not a meal. Overall, between the inconsistent pricing and the tiny portions, I won’t be coming back or recommending this place to anyone.
June 09 · Blendor HoxhaHorrible place, just flat out horrible! I got a burger from here and then got food poisoning from it!I’m not even the president or a world leader and here I am getting food poisoning from a freaking BURGER! How can you even mess that up smh. 🤦🏽♂️ Stay away from this place and best believe me. Atrocious service and food.
June 17 · Bhavin JoshiFresh, quality ingredients. I first heard of this place off Uber Eats, i used to always get “THE VEGETARIAN” sandwich (#14). The last 3 times i ordered “THE VEGETARIAN” they didn’t have eggplant. Whenever they don’t have eggplant i settle for a CHICKEN CUTLET, RED PEPPERS and FRESH MOZZARELLA sandwich. If they always had eggplant, i’d give a 5 ⭐️ rating but not knowing if i’ll be able to eat what i want is a bummer. Regardless, this place serves fresh & delicious food.
