### What is Worth Choosing
Fireside Caterer is a compelling choice for New York residents because it offers an unparalleled blend of **legendary food quality, menu versatility, and local convenience**—a triumvirate rarely achieved by local eateries.
Firstly, the **quality-to-convenience ratio** is exceptional. It is a place you can stop for a **quick visit** or an **in-store pickup**, yet the food you receive—particularly hot heroes like the **Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana**—is meticulously prepared with homemade ingredients. This means getting a quick, satisfying meal doesn't mean sacrificing the flavor and freshness you expect from a great Long Island kitchen.
Secondly, the **menu's depth** ensures that Fireside Caterer can serve almost any need. Unlike a standard deli that offers only cold cuts, Fireside provides a full **Family Dinner** solution, allowing local households to pick up a fantastic **Chicken & Ribs** combo or a tray of their flavorful **Boneless Rib Hero** without needing to cook. This ability to pivot from a gourmet individual sandwich (like the **Reuben** or **God Father**) to a large, complete family meal is highly valuable for busy New York lifestyles.
Finally, choosing Fireside means supporting a local institution with nearly fifty years of history. The decades of service and the intense loyalty of customers, who travel across the region for their food, speak volumes about its consistent value. The fact that they offer high-quality items and accept modern payments while providing easy **wheelchair accessibility** and **free parking** confirms their commitment to the entire local community. In Plainview, Fireside Caterer is more than just a deli; it is a proven, reliable source for the finest, freshest, and most versatile takeout food, guaranteeing that you will "never see lunch the same again."

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Chicken parm hero is too saucy and could use a little more meat. Decent flavor. Mac and cheese just ok. Just salt and pepper flavoring.Chicken club panini is just ok. Grilled chicken was bland. Good amount for $12. Would eat again though. Chocolate cake is good. More like a fudge cake. It's $4.Captain hook hero is tasty. Chicken ceasar wrap is good. Overall a good lunch spot 👍.
September 21 · RahjSince 1996 I have been coming here to Fireside Caterers, and the food here is simply outstanding! Everything is fresh and wonderful, but their chicken cutlet Parmesan hero is probably the best I ever had, anywhere. Fresh cutlets and homemade sauce, on soft hero rolls, this really is the standard that your local deli or pizza joint should be holding itself up to. Counter service is ok 9/10, the tall woman doing checkout is very fast and keeps it moving, but not very friendly— don’t sweat it, it’s NY. Nearly 30 years now I’ve been coming here and I am telling you this is like a super-deli, calling themselves Caterers, don’t let that stop you- I’d eat here every day if I could. Phenomenal eatery. You will never see lunch the same again. I love it.
March 14 · JumpingJackFlashAlways go to fireside deli for the best salads. I have a craving for a great chopped salad so I went to fireside today after work. The lady was very rude behind the counter and I didn’t get a chopped salad she just threw it in the small container… paid $11 for a salad I could of gotten somewhere else for the same price and for more food. Very upset for the first time at this place..
December 06 · Krista AnsonI am not a new customer and have been coming to fireside for the last 20 years. Tonight I I called at 6:45 yes i know you close at 7:00 i in fact was across the street at TD Bank i wanted to order 1 Sandwich and was told that not recommended to order a sandwich as they were starting to close up.I am sorry, I have worked in restaurant situations for over 20 years in the past, and yes, it sucks when a table for four comes in 10 minutes before closing time, but we would never turn that table away, and from the weight staff to the cooks to the bus boys, all are expected to give the same service to that cable as we would give to a table that walked in a half hour after opening. The young lady who answered the phone wouldn’t even take my order, I do hope that a manager or owner see this and wonder why 15 minutes before closing they would turn a customer away.If this is store policy, why have a closing time at all why not just close when you feel like it., Or just let people you want to come in enter.I much rather get my hero as fireside, but looks like a subway night, very, very disappointed
July 11 · Steve StarkCan someone tell me why an egg sandwich at Fireside costs the same price with one egg as it does with 2 eggs? Baffling to me especially considering all the talk about egg prices.Lady behind counter( I think her name is Rose) reminds me of my first visit to DMV to get my license. Wow. What a charmer.
