Location and Accessibility
Fong On is strategically located at 81 Division St, New York, NY 10002, USA, placing it on the border of Chinatown and the Lower East Side. This prime location makes it easily accessible to a large portion of Manhattan residents and visitors. The neighborhood is a hub of activity and public transportation, with several subway stations within walking distance, including the F train at East Broadway and the B and D trains at Grand Street. This makes it convenient to get to from many parts of the city. While paid street parking is available, it can be limited, so public transportation or walking is often the most practical option. The atmosphere of the surrounding area, with its mix of traditional businesses and modern art, perfectly complements the casual and authentic vibe of Fong On itself.

What is Worth Choosing
With a menu focused on a few core items, every choice at Fong On feels like a good one, but some dishes are absolute must-tries. The Savory Tofu Pudding is a standout and a unique experience for many. While the $14 price tag might seem high for a cup of tofu, the rich, satisfying, and flavorful taste makes it worth every penny. It's a perfect light meal or hearty snack. The Sweet Tofu Pudding with toppings is another customer favorite, especially the "Can't Go Wrong" combo with taro balls, red beans, and grass jelly. This dish offers a delightful mix of textures and is a refreshing and not-too-sweet dessert.
Beyond the tofu puddings, the Rice Cakes are an absolute revelation. The Ginger Rice Cake and Brown Rice Cake are lauded for their chewy, soft texture and rich, authentic flavor. They are a beloved childhood snack for many and a delicious discovery for others. The drinks, including the classic Soy Drink and the soothing Herbal Tea, are the perfect complement to any of the food items. The soy drink, in particular, is made from locally sourced, non-GMO soybeans, ensuring a fresh and pure taste that can be enjoyed hot or cold. Ultimately, whether you're in the mood for a quick, healthy bite or a traditional sweet treat, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Every item is a reflection of Fong On's commitment to quality and tradition, making it a place to return to again and again.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I actually really liked the savory tofu pudding. I just can’t get behind the $12 price tag for a cup of tofu and very simple toppings. It’s honestly delicious and satisfying and the perfect amount of toppings. But $12 for a cup of tofu just seems a bit crazy. It’s a very well decorated space with 2 tables inside and a space to stand and eat as well. There’s also benches outside.Cute merch.Card/credit or cash.
July 29 · Cassia AAlways the best homemade tofu, rice cakes, soy bean drinks and herbal tea. We've been coming to Fong On for years. Paul and his family are always so amazing, friendly and kind. And the staff, Stephanie, Gary and Danny are all so efficient, friendly, helpful and professional. We always have big orders when we are there. They're simply the best. Keep up the amazing work.

They are the master of tofu, and everything is so good (except the rice cakes). I got the Can’t Go Wrong Combo, and it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The tofu pudding was warm, soft, and rich, while the toppings were sweet and cold. It was just perfect. The soy milk is also a must-get at Fong On. The only disappointment is the rice cakes because they are just very basic. This is a place of history (est. 1933), and I will DEFINITELY come back again for their amazing tofu pudding and soy milk!
April 05 · Song Ting TangIf you’re a tofu fan, Fong On is for you. Where else can you find tofu made fresh daily? Tofu blocks (soft or firm), soy milk (sweetened or unsweetened) and rice cakes are available. But the novel treat is the warm silky tofu with your choice of sweet or savory toppings ($8.50 plus tax). Your choice of syrup is served on the side so you can adjust the level of sweetness.
April 17 · Augusto PaulinoI always love coming here for the sweet rice cakes. These remind me of my childhood! This recipe is as authentic as the ones I have tried in Hong Kong. Whenever I have family gatherings or friends parties, I would bring this and its a hit! Great for people who like the mochi texture.
