★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Came here for the first time to try Nepalese food! As foodies, the flavor did not disappoint- we enjoyed trying these delicious dishes. Additionally, Kishan was a very dedicated and tentative server with great recommendations. Anthony’s cocktails were very tasty, & we enjoyed our evening here. Will definitely be returning :)
June 07 · Erica BeckerFoodmandu Restaurant offers a decent spot if you’re in the mood to explore a fusion of Nepalese and Western flavors under one roof. The ambience was just okay—clean and casual, but nothing particularly memorable (3/5). However, the service was commendable; the staff was attentive and friendly, which added a pleasant touch to the experience (4/5).The menu features an interesting mix, blending traditional Nepalese dishes with Western-style appetizers and mains. Here’s what we tried:1. Calamari – Clearly processed and frozen, but executed decently. It was average in taste and texture, no major complaints.2. Chicken Taas – One of the highlights of the meal. Flavorful and well-spiced, it paired excellently with the beer we had.3. Aloo Chop – Nicely done with a good balance of spice and texture; enjoyable.4. Jhol Momo – Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing item. The soup (jhol) was unexpectedly sweet, which doesn’t align with traditional Nepali palate expectations. As a Nepali, it was disheartening to see this twist on a staple dish go wrong.Overall, Foodmandu is worth a visit once if you’re looking to sample a variety of dishes, but it lacks the “repeat value” that would make us return. There’s definitely room for improvement in staying authentic with traditional flavors while innovating responsibly.
June 20 · CHANDAN RANJITWe really enjoyed our experience! The masala papad was light and crunchy, the curried fried potatoes delicious, and the veg momo hefty and lightly fried. I loved the texture of my keema rice with chicken and my husband enjoyed the spice of his keema noodles with chicken. My rice was more mild. Very filling too, we went home with leftovers! I also appreciated that they gave us our own little water pitcher and kept it filled. Thanks for a great meal!
May 24 · Morgan GEverything from the service to the food presentation was top-notch. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend for a cozy date night or a nice dinner with friends!
