★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Hamza & Madina Halal Cart never disappoints! Whether it’s a quick lunch or a late-night bite (they’re open 24/7!), the food is always on point. The meat is consistently juicy, tender, and packed with flavor—you can tell they care about quality. The flavors are balanced perfectly every time, and the portions are generous. Pro tip: don’t skip the green sauce—just a little goes a long way and ties everything together beautifully.Easily one of my go-to spots. If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out!
April 23 · Keshan BissassarGot a combo over rice for $8. Not a lot of food for the money but the food tasted very good. I don't know if it was hunger but I was not expecting the food to taste as good as it did. If you ignore the portion size, this may be some of the best halal food you could get in NY for $8. Some of these reviews talking about "empty platters" though, I could definitely see where they're coming from.
October 15 · Kevin Norris1.1.1 Years of Late-Night LoyaltyI’ve been a loyal customer of this halal cart in front of the closed CVS (across from 7-Eleven) for several years, especially during the late-night hours between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m.. It's been my default spot post-midnight, especially when other places are closed or too expensive. While the original owners seem to have changed, the food and late-night service remain a staple.🍽️ Food Quality, Price & Portion Notes1.2.1 Value & Inflation Over Time$8 Chicken Over Rice + Soda: Still a great deal for late-night eatsPortions used to be more generous (pre-COVID) — containers were overfilledRecent years have seen higher prices and slightly smaller portions$10 with tip still feels fair, but portion size varies depending on who's working1.2.2 Food Favorites & TipsCombo Rice (Chicken & Lamb) – Highly recommended for first-timersAsk for Pita Bread – Increases your food volume at no extra costWhite sauce + light hot sauce – Classic combo for flavorAlways grab a straw for your soda – sanitary tip!Haven’t tried the kebab, but the chicken and lamb are both great🧑🍳 Service & Staff1.3.1 Personable and RecognizableRegulars (like myself) tend to get better portions and faster serviceThe late-night guy knows me by face, and the exchange is always respectfulIf you're new, portions might vary, so tip well and build rapport⚠️ Important Notes for Newcomers1.4.1 Be Aware Of…CVS lot is closed — don’t park there or you risk being towedThere are many halal carts nearby, so if this one isn’t your vibe, you’ve got optionsThe quality is consistent, but the portion size can fluctuateAvoid before 10 p.m. if you're looking for variety — this spot is best after midnight🧡 Final Thoughts – Worth It, But Manage ExpectationsThis isn’t a fancy spot—it’s a reliable late-night food fix. You’ll get solid portions (especially if you're a regular), good chicken and lamb, and unbeatable value after midnight. Yes, prices have increased, and portions are a bit smaller than before, but they still come through when it matters most.Bonus tip: If you ever feel groggy after eating halal late at night, you’re not alone—it might be the ingredients or just age creeping in. Still, for what it is, this halal cart hits the spot when you need it most. Try it, and if you like it, leave your own review!
April 21 · Miguelhamza continues to be the best chicken over rice i've ever had. the recipes haven't changed in the 10+yrs i've been eating it. 8.99 for a packed tray + a drink really isn't terrible these days and i always get enough food to be uncomfortably fulli cant with some of these comments.. this is just a street cart lol, it's not a restaurant. go to a different cart if you want to pay with venmo, there's plenty around. i'll happily bring cash to hamza bc it's just the best
August 03 · brett nahmanGot the mix over rice, the chicken was very juicy and moist. Didn’t like the lamb as much but I believe if it was cooked on the spot it would’ve been much better instead of being precooked. The rice lacked flavor; a bit more seasoning to the rice or sauce would’ve really taken it to the next level. But nonetheless it’s a great portion. I wished the meat was chopped little more but that’s just preference.
