Compared to another popular AYCE omakase, this place really means AYCE. They offer to refill your miso soup, and offer unli mochi! Heck they even asked if you wanted to take a mochi home 😆 As for the unlimited sushi, they served the salmon with some topping and the fatty tuna with masago, which was a good complement. I def prefer small, lowkey, and not flashy places like this over fancier omakase. Jackie and his team were warm and attentive. Thank you for the experience!
August 17 · Naomi ANow that I have been to 3 AYCE omakase, I think they all have their own special place. The fish at this location was good. This was also the place that has uni sushi in one of their course.The regular sushi piece was not as big and their refill pieces were smaller. So don’t be afraid to order a lot. Rice was not as much as hayashi and the refill piece does live up to the expecting from the piece you got during the 13 course. (Unlike souraji where refill pieces are not as good).They got red shrimp here which was good but tuna and waygu refill pieces was really good. Foie gra was good as well on top of the salmon.Also, Labubu raffle? That’s pretty cool.For that price, you can’t really beat it. Unless you want to go to omakase for some special fish that flown in oversea, I do recommend coming here and feeling satisfy.It is a more intimate place. Good for date.
September 05 · Don LuiWe had our favorite meal this past trip at Hatsu Omakase. You start with 13 courses of nigiri, along with a few small bites. My favorites out of these courses were the salmon and foie gras, seared chutoro, and unagi. The best part was the AYCE portion of the meal, where I ordered quite a few pieces of chutoro and wagyu.The service here was fantastic, with our sake cups constantly being filled with quite a bit of variety for their AYCD menu. Shoutout to Amy for the warm hospitality. It’s also pretty awesome to see the chefs in action, with so much focus and experience.Hatsu is the best. You get a great meal and a pregame wrapped up in one. I will come here every time I’m back in NYC.
May 14 · Andy JanAfter much research we opted to try out Hatsu as our first AYCE omakase experience and it was amazing. Food service started promptly after seating, we were offered the appetizer and miso soup immediately. The chef also introduced us to the sake options (all you can drink as well!).The pacing during the main courses was well-timed. It was a full house during our reservation and there was only 2 chefs, but chef Jackie still took the liberty to explain each dish to us in detail. It’s very clear that he really cares about his craft and is very knowledgeable. He had so much patience in answering our questions and was very enthusiastic in explaining how he designed the menu. My favorite pieces of the meal was amberjack with crispy shallots, salmon for gras with grated white truffle, and the Hokkaido uni was also very sweet and creamy. During the courses, our drinks and miso soup were also promptly refilled throughout.For our AYCE options, we were given the choices of salmon, toro, shrimp, and wagyu. You get one round for each sushi, and after that you also get one final round to order as much of any of those 4. The fish to rice ratio was perfect. This is something I really appreciated from Hatsu, is that they didn’t try to stuff us with large amounts of rice for the AYCE session. Also, I was pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail for all the AYCE pieces, i.e. salmon was topped with a white truffle sauce, toro was topped with yuzu tobiko etc., to me that shows me how much they care about the quality of their food. There was 90 minutes total for the main course+AYCE, and at no point did we feel rushed. Finally, we had mochi ice cream for dessert and that was AYCE as well. Overall, the food was great and the service was immaculate. I highly recommend Hatsu and will definitely be back!
June 21 · Vanessa LMy boyfriend and I had an amazing time here. There were courses that came out that we were eh about and some that we were talking about for the rest of the night. All you can drink sake included and I tried about 5 of them? The owner, Jackie, is the main chef and superb in what he does. The sushi is on the smaller size but the perfect pop in your mouth size and then the all you can eat at the end, they are VERY generous. I left so full haha
