What is Worth Choosing: A Deep Dive into the Menu
Jannet Aden Yemeni Restaurant is celebrated for a menu rich in flavor and tradition, and choosing what to order is often the most delightful dilemma. For a truly authentic experience, the Main Dishes with Basmati Rice are highly recommended. The Mandi is a crowd favorite, featuring tender, lightly roasted lamb or chicken served over fragrant rice. Similarly, the slow-cooked Haneeth offers a deeply satisfying and melt-in-your-mouth meat experience, often cited as a must-try. Another excellent choice is the Biryani, which consists of chopped meat sautéed with rice, providing a different but equally aromatic profile. These large, savory rice platters are perfect for a hearty dinner or for sharing among groups.
Beyond the rice dishes, the Main Curries offer distinct, robust flavors. The Fahsa Shredded Meat curry is an iconic, hearty stew that provides a bowl of Yemeni comfort, bursting with bold flavors and often served with fresh bread. The Agda, a curry with meat, okra, carrots, potatoes, and onions, is another excellent option for those who enjoy a vegetable and meat stew.
For a lighter meal or a quick bite, the Shawarma/Gyros selection offers portability and flavor, with choices like Lamb, Chicken, or Falafel on pita. For breakfast enthusiasts, the restaurant offers an entire traditional selection, including the savory Megalgal Breakfast (minced meat sautéed with spices) or the classic Middle Eastern staple, Shakshoka Breakfast (scrambled eggs with sautéed tomatoes and onion). While one customer noted a less-than-ideal experience with the Shakshoka, the overall consensus across the full menu points to excellent flavors and generous portions.
And no Yemeni meal is complete without a traditional finish. The Masoob dessert—a comforting mix of bread, bananas, honey, and cream—is perfect for sharing. Paired with a warm glass of Adeni Tea, it provides a sweet, aromatic conclusion to a memorable meal. The sheer variety, from satisfying Halal grills like Lamb Chops and Mixed Grill to unique seafood options like Grilled Salmon and Whole Greek Fish, ensures that Jannet Aden offers something authentically delicious for every New York diner. The consistent praise for its food quality and the overall value provided by the generous portions solidify Jannet Aden Yemeni Restaurant as a top choice for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine in Brooklyn.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Don’t order Shakshoka. Eggs are dry and burn doesn’t look like the menu. $14.00 dollars. I rather go to deli for $6.00 tastes so much better. I won’t even want to try out all the food in this restaurant. Everything here is overpriced $$$
May 22 · Z TSooooooo bomb. Came by at like 11pm with two friends after checking out the horseshoe crabs at Plumb beach. Mating season. Got the lamb curry with basmati and a ton of naan. Huge plate of hummus. And this yummy curried soup filled with cilantro to start. We laughed, we cried. Great vibes. Beautiful decor. Run it up.

April 01 · kazi afsarVery good yemeni food. Got the mixed platter and we devoured it
April 29 · Arman AkterLoved the simple setting, extremely welcoming and hospitable behavior. Such a lovely neighborhood atmosphere. Everyone greeting each other coming in. Middle eastern style nook for eating on the floor. The food was amazing. Their complimentary lamb broth soup was delicious. Ordered the fahsa chicken with naan. For bread lovers the naan/flat bread is perfection, one of the best I’ve had. Also ordered the lamb mandi, lamb Haneeth and chicken kabsa. My favorite was chicken kabsa!! The flavor of the rice! Next time will order the zourbian, fried fish and liver stir fry. Please do try. Our new favorite restaurant. Hidden gem! Took elderly parents, they loved it. Portions are huge!! Worth every penny.
