Mr.Poke Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking a fresh, fast, and healthy dining option, particularly those residing in or near Long Island's Great Neck area, Mr. Poke stands out as a premier destination. Located conveniently on Great Neck Road, this eatery expertly merges the vibrant, fresh flavors of Hawaiian cuisine—specifically the beloved poke bowl—with the familiar appeal of Japanese-style sushi takeaway.
Mr. Poke has established itself as a local favorite by focusing on quick service and high-quality, customizable ingredients. It offers a much-needed alternative to traditional fast food, providing nutritious and satisfying meals that cater to a modern, health-conscious clientele. Whether you're a college student looking for a quick refuel, a local grabbing a spontaneous bite, or a commuter needing a convenient dinner option, Mr. Poke delivers a consistently positive experience.
The concept is built around customization, allowing patrons to build their perfect bowl from a vast selection of bases, proteins, mix-ins, sauces, and toppings. This "Build Your Own Bowl" approach is complemented by a menu of expertly crafted Signature Bowls for those who prefer a ready-made recommendation, along with classic sushi rolls for a traditional Japanese treat. The establishment is designed for versatility, providing excellent options for dine-in, seamless takeout, and convenient delivery right to your door.
The core of the offering is the poke bowl, a traditional Hawaiian dish of diced raw fish marinated in a savory sauce, served over rice or greens. Mr. Poke elevates this concept by providing an extensive, step-by-step customization process:
- Step 1: Base Choose from foundational items like White Rice, Brown Rice, Fresh Salad / Mix Green, or Cha Soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles).
- Step 2: Protein Select your main ingredient, with options ranging from raw, marinated seafood like Tuna*, Salmon*, Shrimp, Ahi Tuna (Marinated)*, and Scallop, to cooked choices like Grilled Chicken and a plant-based Organic Tofu. *A note is provided that consuming raw or undercooked seafood may increase the risk of foodborne illness.
- Step 3: Mix-In Introduce a burst of flavor and texture with fresh ingredients such as Mango, Pineapple, Sweet Onion, Edamame, Cucumber, Shredded Carrot, Green Onion, Jalapeno, Cilantro, Red Cabbage, Mandarin Orange, Corn, and Grape Tomato.
- Step 4: Sauces Pick up to two distinct flavor profiles, including Sriracha Aioli, Sesame Shoyu, Honey Wasabi, Sweet Citrus, Eel Sauce, Ponzu Fresh, Classic, and Sweet Chili. This step is critical for defining the final taste of the bowl.
- Step 5: Toppings Add premium toppings for extra crunch and flavor, such as Masago*, Seaweed Salad, Crab Salad, Tamago (Egg Omelette), Hijiki Seaweed Salad, Pickled Ginger, and Wasabi, with an option for fresh Avocado (for an added fee).
- Step 6: Crunch Finalize your bowl with a satisfying textural element. Choose up to two of the following: Tempura Flakes, Crispy Onion, Shredded Nori, Wonton Chips, Sesame Seeds, or Spicy Furikake.
This detailed process ensures every New Yorker can create a meal tailored exactly to their dietary needs and taste preferences, whether they are looking for something spicy and bold or light and refreshing. Signature Bowls, such as the hearty Land & Sea (Grilled Chicken and Shrimp) and the popular Spicy Salmon*, offer reliable, flavorful combinations for first-time visitors or those in a hurry. The menu is further rounded out with sides like Kani Salad and Seaweed Salad, and a variety of Japanese and American drinks including Ramune and Coconut Water.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is reasonably priced. No frills atmosphere. Pretty fresh run of the mill $8 a roll sushi. If you are in the run for a quick quality bite, this is not a bad place to get sushi.
September 24 · Kosta Ricagood food and yummy sauce, avocado is a little pricy
August 13 · Hang MiThe portion is really big and a reasonable price. I got the salmon mango, but there are other customizable options as well. It's been a few years since I came to this place and the quality remains the same, except it felt like the fish to rice ratio was off – there couldve been more fish and less rice. But overall it was really filling and the rice stayed warm for a pretty long time.
July 14 · Vianna KwokThey are slightly cheaper than other pokè places, the toppings are diverse and I like that they've got the option to add ingredients to give the bowl some texture and crunch. We ordered the land&sea and a build a bowl which comprises of scallops and tuna.Ingredients are quality and fresh, presentation is beautiful.....but I think the portions vs pricing is a little off, my tummy was still hungry after the bowl. Flavour-wise, it lacked pizazz. Personally I think kiss fish in Forrest Hills is a better option.
February 04 · K PhillipsSuper cool store. The workers were welcoming and friendly. I was just in and out for my food, but my experience over all was super super nice. The store is in a central location, its clean and nice on the inside. I have no complaints about it, to be quite honest.
