Nasima's Halal, located in the dynamic Brooklyn neighborhood of Bay Pkwy, is a proud and essential part of this culinary landscape. This establishment has earned its stripes as a go-to spot for authentic Halal cuisine, specializing in the kind of hearty, savory dishes that define New York’s comfort food scene—namely, chicken and lamb over rice, flavorful gyros, and quick-serve wraps.
What makes Nasima's stand out in the highly competitive Halal market is its dual commitment to traditional flavor and community values. Whether you’re a local resident, a busy commuter, or simply craving a satisfying meal, Nasima's has built a reputation for delivering reliable and genuinely delicious Halal meals that are popular for lunch, dinner, and everything in between.
The menu is perfectly tailored for the New Yorker on the move, offering 'quick bite' options and substantial platters at budget-friendly price points. It’s a place where quality Halal-certified meat and fresh falafel are combined with buttery rice or warm pita bread, generously topped with their signature sauces—the classic formula that has fueled generations of city dwellers. While New Yorkers are always mindful of value and price consistency, the core appeal of Nasima's remains its accessibility and the pure comfort of its food. This is the spot where solo diners, families, and friends gather to enjoy a taste of authentic street-style cuisine in a safe, inclusive environment.
It is important to note that, like many local businesses, Nasima's has faced the reality of rising operational costs, leading to necessary price adjustments over time. Customers who have followed the restaurant for years have observed these changes. However, the consistent offerings, commitment to Halal food, and focus on customer service continue to position Nasima's as a valuable and beloved local resource for a satisfying, affordable meal in the 11204 area.

The Combo Platter ($11.00) is the undisputed champion of New York street food and is Nasima’s most ordered item. This platter, featuring a combination of their flat-top grilled marinated meats (Chicken and Lamb) and falafels, served over buttery rice, provides the best value and variety. It is the definitive comfort meal, and at $11.00, it remains a highly competitive price point in the city for such a substantial dish.
The Platters—including the Chicken, Lamb, and Falafel options—are all served over a bed of buttery rice for $11.00. The Chicken Platter, with its flat-top grilled, marinated white meat, is a highly popular and flavorful choice that receives significant praise. The Lamb Platter, featuring flat-top grilled minced lamb, offers a rich, satisfying alternative for meat lovers.
For a quick handheld meal, their Gyros are an excellent choice. The Combo Gyro, which allows you to choose between Chicken & Lamb, Lamb & Falafel, or Chicken & Falafel for $11.00, offers a warm, savory pita wrapped around fresh ingredients, salad, and their signature sauce. Their Kati Roll ($6.00), wrapped in a 7-inch paratha, is also a highly recommended option for a fast and flavorful grab-and-go meal that is easy to eat on the move.
While there have been customer comments regarding price adjustments and slight changes in portion size (a challenge many food establishments have faced due to city regulations and economic factors), the ongoing popularity of Nasima’s, especially for its core $11.00 platters and wraps, underscores its continued status as a beloved local spot. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Guy was evil to me because during 10th grade he’s been giving my food with the container upside down for $8 but didn’t care much, starting 11 grade he charges me $9, I had exactly enough but won’t be able to get my Arizona drink, I legit thought it would be the same price since 10th grade but NO! Of course this was also on Friday the 13 of this year. It also showed a menu saying it was $7 but he lied. I’M NEVER GETTING FOOD FROM HIM AGAIN!
November 25 · Icy LeoThis used to my go to halal cart for years. Loved the portion size when the city still allowed styrofoam. The change to the plastic clamshell caused the portion size to shrink but still supported them. Unfortunately since they returned from the pandemic, they raised the prices from my go to at $5 to $7, stating the raise in meat prices and now $8. A 60% price increase in about 2 years is rough. The portion size has also gotten smaller recently.
