★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great little speakeasy hidden away in the entry to the subway. Great decor and a super friendly bartender made for fun drinks. The gold coated coffee bean martini made with 1942 was really good. The martini flight was a good sampler and came in cool little glasses.
September 05 · Brian Carpani, GeckoMediaGroupCute bar. Great location. Nice staff. I like rum drinks so I ordered the Juicy. I also got a taster of the frozen rum punch. I enjoyed the frozen rum punch a lot more than the cocktail.
July 24 · Emery VilleHidden beneath the hustle of Midtown Manhattan, Nothing Really Matters is a subterranean escape that redefines the speakeasy experience. Located inside the 50th Street subway station, this bar is more than just a novelty—it’s a masterclass in ambiance and mixology. From the moment you descend into its vaporwave-inspired interior, you’re transported into a neon-lit dreamscape. The decor is sleek and moody, with a backlit bar that glows like a crystal altar and a disco ball that adds just the right touch of whimsy. It’s intimate without being claustrophobic, and the vibe is effortlessly cool. The cocktail menu is where Nothing Really Matters truly shines. Head mixologist Cyllan crafts seasonal, inventive drinks that are as photogenic as they are flavorful. Standouts include the “Fearless Girl,” a pear-forward gin cocktail, and the smoky “Belmont,” a rum and spiced coffee concoction that’s perfect for adventurous palates. If you’re feeling bold, let the bartender freestyle—just be sure it’s a slow night.Food options are minimal but thoughtful, ranging from bar snacks to caviar with crème fraîche. Pizzas can be ordered in from nearby spots Tuesday through Saturday, adding a casual touch to the upscale vibe. Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or just looking to shake up your commute, Nothing Really Matters is a must-visit. It’s not just a bar—it’s a hidden gem that proves sometimes, the best places are the ones you stumble upon underground
August 06 · J Frank (JF1973)Three girlfriends and I were looking for a fun late night experience and based on reviews went here. Overall it did not disappoint. We reserved seats in the “lounge” because I didn’t want to have to wait in any lines. There ended up not being any lines but we were glad to be seated in a smaller space within the bar so it was *slightly* easier to hear each other. Drinks were tasty overall. The food was disappointing even for bar snacks (overpriced bowl of popcorn and bowl of Doritos—yes, Doritos). But again, we were looking for a cool experience and so we overlooked that and chalked it up to the cost of some fun. Our waitress was SUPER nice and I wish I had gotten her name. Cute and friendly and good about coming around to check on us. Loved that it was inside a subway entrance and felt appropriately “hidden” away. Eager to try other places because there are so many options but I would go back here again in the future.
June 03 · Kim JenningsThis was a really cool find for us because you enter by heading down into the subway and then all of a sudden there’s this bar. It’s a great place to get a drink before a show, and we had a fantastic server who was checking up on us several times. Highly recommend the frozen drink!
