★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Disappointed at a Landmark: A Frustrating Experience at Chipotle, Empire State BuildingVisiting the iconic Empire State Building should be an exciting moment, especially when grabbing a quick bite from a trusted brand like Chipotle. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me with frustration and disappointment — not what anyone expects at one of the most famous landmarks in the world.I stopped by the Chipotle inside the Empire State Building to pick up my usual veggie bowl. Normally, I pay around $15, including chips and a dip. But to my surprise, this time the total came to $21.00 — for a simple veggie bowl. That’s almost $6 more than what I typically pay.Even more surprising, the beans were out of stock, so I asked for queso instead — which is usually just a $1.00 add-on. When I asked the cashier why the total was so high, he rudely responded, “I’m not bothered,” and said he charged me extra for the queso. Instead of $1.00, he added $3.00.Trying to keep calm, I then ordered chips and salsa. My final total was $18.00, but I still wasn’t sure where the charges added up. When I asked for a spoon at the end, the cashier showed me attitude again — clearly uninterested in helping or making things right. This isn’t just about a few extra dollars. It’s about how customers are treated, especially at a tourist-heavy location like the Empire State Building. People from all over the world visit this site, and this kind of behavior can leave a lasting negative impression.Chipotle is known for its consistency and customer service. But this experience left me questioning that reputation. I hope the management at this location takes this seriously and ensures better training and customer care — because small interactions can shape big opinions, especially in a place as iconic as New York City.
June 27 · darshini gosaliaChipotle is always a solid choice when you want something quick but fresh. I like that you can customize your bowl or burrito with plenty of options, and the portions are generous. The food usually tastes fresh, and I appreciate that they offer healthier choices compared to typical fast food. That said, the lines can get long during busy hours, and sometimes the consistency in portion size depends on who’s serving. Overall, it’s a reliable spot for a tasty meal at a reasonable price.
September 07 · Ruth AAs a vegetarian, Chipotle is usually one of the few fast food places where I can count on a decently balanced, satisfying meal. This location missed the mark. The first employee I interacted with seemed like she really didn’t want to be there. I felt more like I was intruding in her house than ordering food. I asked for brown rice, she gave me white. I let that go, not the end of the world. But when I asked for black beans (the only protein source I was getting), she gave me a tiny amount. When I politely asked for a little more, she added maybe a tablespoon, as if beans were a rare commodity?End result: I had a bowl with mostly white rice, barely any beans, and a pool of bean broth at the bottom. So much of it leaked out that it soaked through and ripped the paper bag. Super messy, not satisfying, and definitely not worth the price. The one saving grace was the second person down the line, who was pleasant and much more generous with toppings. I didn’t even have to ask. But it’s disappointing to walk away with what was basically rice and vegetables swimming in bean broth, with hardly any actual beans in most bites. There wasn’t a line (I came around 7 p.m. and it was raining), so I can’t blame a busy rush, though maybe they were tired near the end of their shift. Hopefully it was just a one-off and not how vegetarian orders are typically handled here.
August 05 · StacyDelicious food and a very good service! Happy with everything. Highly recommended
August 07 · Ariel MerkuriBusy lunch spot with a fully staffed counter that moves the line efficiently. Plenty of room to sit. Ample portions and scoops - you won’t feel unsatisfied here, I had to leave some in the bowl. Everything tasted fresh. Appreciated everyone’s attention and hard work - the employees are tuned in. Seemed to be a constant set of online/app orders being picked up too.
