Peck Peck Chicken Introduce
If you're a New Jersey local on the hunt for truly exceptional fried chicken, look no further than Peck Peck Chicken in Teaneck. This unassuming, small "mom & pop" establishment has carved out a stellar reputation, frequently lauded by local residents and food critics alike, with some even calling it the source of the best wings in all of New Jersey. While categorized with types like 'Chicken restaurant,' 'American restaurant,' and 'Takeout Restaurant,' Peck Peck’s focus is on delivering authentic, high-quality Korean-style fried chicken that keeps customers coming back for more. Don't let the modest exterior fool you; this is a place where culinary care and incredible flavor take center stage, proving that the best food often comes from dedicated, family-run joints.
Peck Peck Chicken specializes in a concise menu of perfectly prepared chicken, side dishes, and entrees, making it a beloved spot for those seeking comfort food done right. The hallmark of their cooking is the double-frying method common in Korean fried chicken, which results in a distinct, impossibly crispy shell without the typical greasiness. The devotion to quality ingredients and careful preparation is evident in every bite, from their signature wings to their perfectly crispy steak-cut fries.
The atmosphere at Peck Peck is best described as casual, cozy, and trendy, making it an inviting spot for a quick bite or a satisfying meal. It’s a popular choice for both lunch and dinner and attracts a friendly crowd, including local college students and visitors looking for a memorable food experience. The owners and staff are consistently praised for their exceptionally sweet, friendly, and attentive customer service, adding a warm, personal touch that is often lost in larger dining establishments. This commitment to customer satisfaction truly elevates the overall experience and is a key part of the local charm.
When you visit, be prepared to wait slightly longer than a typical fast-food spot, as the fresh preparation of their famous fried chicken takes time—often around 30 minutes. However, the consistent customer consensus is clear: the wait is absolutely worth it for the quality and flavor delivered.
The food itself is a celebration of flavor and texture. The star of the show is, without a doubt, the chicken wings. They are expertly 'crunchified,' tender on the inside, and tossed in just the right amount of sauce—brushed on, not swimming in it—to maintain that coveted crispness. While the menu offers a few variations, the fan-favorite Soy Garlic and the fiery Sweet & Spicy flavors are must-tries for any first-time visitor. For those who prefer boneless options, the Boneless Tender Tenders offer a substantial, flavorful alternative, although many loyalists swear by the superior tenderness of the bone-in wings.
The dedication to serving exceptional food, combined with the genuine friendliness of the staff, has firmly established Peck Peck Chicken as a true gem in the Teaneck dining scene, transcending its simple chicken restaurant label to become a regional favorite for anyone craving authentic Korean-style comfort food.

What is Worth Choosing
If you are planning your first visit to Peck Peck Chicken, choosing from the menu can be a delightfully difficult task, given the high quality of all their offerings. However, based on overwhelming customer feedback and the restaurant's specialties, a few dishes truly define the Peck Peck experience:
First and foremost, the Signature Chicken Wings are a non-negotiable choice. They are the item that has earned the restaurant its reputation for having some of the absolute best wings in New Jersey. The recommended move is to try a combination of both the savory Soy Garlic and the fiery, yet balanced, Sweet & Spicy flavors to get a full appreciation of their sauce mastery. The sauces are applied so perfectly that the chicken's famous crunch is preserved, not saturated.
For a complete, hearty meal, consider the Chicken Strip Bowl or the Peckwich, which offer satisfying entrees built around their expertly fried chicken. If you enjoy boneless pieces, the Boneless Tender Tenders are known for their generous size and meaty texture.
Finally, do not make the mistake of skipping the side dishes. The thick, perfectly cooked Steak Cut Fries are a standout. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It's been a minute since I've let myself indulge in Korean fried chicken, but I've been hearing about Peck Peck since I moved to the area. Every time someone sang its praises, I had to wonder, 'Really? The best fried chicken comes out of THAT space?' Because every time I passed by it, it looked quiet or closed or both. But don't let appearances fool you. It's very, very good.To get straight to it, the wings are the way to go here. I ordered both the wings and the boneless tenders to give this place the old college try, and while the tenders are impressive in size and heft (and I personally like them because I don't have to work around a bone), I found the wings to be far more tender and flavorful. I also found that the tenders were far quicker to lose their fried crunchification. I also tried both the soy garlic and sweet and spicy flavors, and both are incredible. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose one, I'd have to pick the soy garlic, but I love the way these sauces aren't lathered onto each piece. There's just enough brushed on so that you can appreciate both the flavor and the texture of the chicken. The fries here are the wedge type. Think KFC, but fresher and less salty. Also, don't sleep on the pickled veg. I know it sounds nuts to buy pickled veggies from a fried chicken place, but it's a staple for classic Korean fried chicken dinners to cleanse the greasy palate with something acidic. I love the medley of veg they use here, and I loved the pickling juice so much, I actually found myself sipping it between bites (don't judge me). There's a small parking lot on the side of the building that might accommodate three or four cars at most. And that might be by design, because three or four parties is probably the most that could dine in this tiny restaurant. But as many have already shared, the owners here are so sweet and friendly, it's a gift to spend any amount of time with them, even in this teacup-sized dining room. Those who choose to takeout or deliver will be pleased to know that Peck Peck Chicken knows how to to package freshly fried things correctly - that is, with intentionally aerated containers so that you won't lose all that beautiful crisp as the food makes its way home.
July 11 · Jane CPeck Peck was recommended to me from someone who lives in the area. When you first look at the place you wouldn’t think good food comes from it but it does! The chicken was great! Cooked to perfection not too hard but not too soft either! I usually like my chicken extras saucy but this time it wasn’t and I was fine still.
July 15 · Vikki MelonzDon't be fooled by the small space this place is throwing out some seriously good chicken. I got the large chicken strips (6 pieces) and I was definitely not disappointed. This box came with 2 different sauces (I did not get salt and pepper because obviously nothing special). Both were so good and I can not pick between them so my advice would be to just get them both. My only complaint is that the sauces were so good I wish the chicken was flooded with it. The crispness of each bite mixed with the flavor made you keep going in for more. The size of each chicken strip was also insane. Just 2 strips made me full but unfortunately was unable to control myself since they were so good and ate another. Thankfully I didn't order anything else because I honestly didn't have the room but I definitely will be back to try more things. I did takeout and called ahead which made things smooth and easy. There is a very small sit down area so if that's what you're looking for be aware if its around busy times. Great food and priced fairly for what you get. The staff was friendly and were excited for me to try it for the first time which made me excited as well. Great experience and I will be sure to see you soon peck peck.
May 25 · Matthew BlewittLocal OG KFC that has been in business for a while now. Been here many times and my fam and i continue to love their chicken. Altho its a bit more expensive now than before covid. A must try if you're into korean fried chicken. There's a limited space free parking lot next to the building but plenty of street parking along Degraw Ave or in Queen Anne Rd. Just double check for the signs as they might require you to pay on certain hours.
July 17 · Kirk AhnPeck Peck is an absolute must-visit. The wings were to die for - the perfect balance of flavor and crunch. The rice bowl and peckwich were equally impressive. And the customer service? Top-notch! They made me feel like I was part of the family. It’s a truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommend it!
