Bar Pisellino Introduce
Tucked into a charming corner of the West Village, Bar Pisellino is not just a bar; it is a meticulously crafted ode to the timeless Italian art of drinking, or "l'arte del bere." From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a chic European cafe, where every detail, from the curved marble bar to the warm oak interiors, is designed to evoke the classic, all-day bars of Florence and Rome. This is a place that seamlessly transitions from a morning coffee and pastry haven to a vibrant afternoon aperitivo spot and a sophisticated evening cocktail bar. It's the brainchild of acclaimed chefs Rita Sodi and Jody Williams, the same power couple behind the West Village's other beloved establishments like Via Carota and I Sodi, ensuring a level of quality and authenticity that is second to none.
Bar Pisellino's concept is simple yet brilliantly executed. It is a place for a brief respite or for lingering in the pleasure of eating and drinking well at any time of day. This is a bar that celebrates the communal and social aspect of Italian culture, encouraging guests to stand at the beautiful marble bar to enjoy an espresso and a bomboloni in the morning, or to sit on the sun-drenched sidewalk for an Aperol Spritz in the afternoon. The atmosphere is casual, cozy, and trendy, making it a hotspot for a diverse crowd, including tourists, locals, and a friendly LGBTQ+ community. Despite its popularity, the service is consistently fast and attentive, with a staff that is committed to making every visit a memorable one. This combination of a sophisticated European vibe with the welcoming, unpretentious feel of a neighborhood spot is what makes Bar Pisellino a truly unique gem in New York City.
The menu, while focused, is a testament to quality. The cocktails are a major highlight, celebrated for being beautifully crafted and full of flavor. Classics like the Negroni and Americano are staples, while the "Sgroppino" has earned a cult following for its bright, refreshing, and boozy slushy mix of lemon sorbet, Prosecco, and vodka. The wine list is equally impressive, offering a curated selection of Italian varietals. Even the coffee and pastries are exceptional, with patrons raving about the impeccable cappuccino, often served on a silver platter, and the delicious cornetti. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a luxurious drink, Bar Pisellino delivers an experience that is authentic, chic, and genuinely delightful.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Amazing cocktails and a true Italian bar experience with a chic European vibe. The outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching, especially on a sunny day. Expect a bit of a wait to get seated—this place is popular for a reason—but it’s well worth it. Every cocktail was beautifully crafted and full of flavor. Whether you’re just stopping by for drinks or settling in for the evening, it’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve escaped to a stylish corner of Italy.
July 12 · Sandra OreWhat a charming Italian bar & cafe! It’s located right across the street from Via Carota in the West Village, and no surprise, it’s owned by the same power couple behind Via Carota. We had just flown into town and found ourselves with an hour to kill before our lunch reservation there, and I’m so glad we wandered over.Yes, it was only 11 a.m., technically “too early” for cocktails but we’re on vacation, and who’s judging? They open at 8 a.m. daily, serving up excellent coffee and pastries, so you can just as easily make this your morning stop. That’s what I love about the concept, it really is an all-day Italian bar/cafe!We grabbed a sidewalk table with perfect front-row seats for people watching, easily the best spot in the house. Our server was friendly and attentive, which added to the whole relaxed neighborhood vibe.I ordered the much-talked-about Sgroppino (thanks to all the rave reviews), and it lived up to the hype. A slushy blend of lemon sorbet, Prosecco, and vodka, it’s bright, refreshing, boozy but still delicate, like a little glass of vacation. My boyfriend went for the Paper Plane, which was just as delicious in its own way.Between the drinks, the vibe, and the West Village charm, Bar Pisellino is a must if you’re in the area. I’d come back any time of day!
September 15 · Karen Greene⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Charming Italian Vibes & Delicious DrinksBar Pisellino is such a cute and fun spot — the atmosphere and design instantly transport you to a classic Italian bar. It’s the kind of place that feels both relaxed and stylish, perfect for a casual afternoon or early evening hangout.I ordered one of their cocktails — I don’t remember the exact name, but it was a watermelon frappe-style drink from the menu, and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and not too sweet — exactly how a great cocktail should be.If you’re looking for a laid-back place with excellent drinks, small sandwiches, panini, and a lovely cheese board, this is it. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.Highly recommend for anyone in NYC looking to enjoy a slice of Italy with great vibes and flavors.
August 05 · Eric VLovely bar, fascinating interior design. We were lucky to be served by a super nice server. Line was really long on weekend (we went there on Fri afternoon.) Bites were good average, so do drinks.🍫🥛✨Hot chocolate, no doubt one of my favorite hot chocolates now. Please don’t see it as a drink but like a cup of chocolate-flavored, whisked heavy cream. It like mousse yet, but in between. Taste was rich and lovely with their style.Raspberry was delicious too, although nothing unique. The shell was crunchy, the jam was slightly too sweet for me.✨💛Chips, special vip. Definitely something good than packed ones for people who are not hungry but craving stuff.
May 04 · Julia HWas visiting NYC and just randomly saw this bar after dinner. So glad that we found this place! We absolutely loved the atmosphere, the décor, the service and the great energy that captivated us during out visit. It was so sad when the bar had to close at 11pm. Wish it had longer hours. Will definitely come back!
