The restaurant is classified simply as a "Restaurant," but its focus is clearly on robust, flavorful meals designed to satisfy the craving for truly comforting food.
The core of the menu revolves around substantial and flavorful dishes, with a clear emphasis on their signature roasted chicken. According to customer feedback, the meals "primarily consist of roasted chicken," which can be enjoyed as a whole bird—perfect for family gatherings or sharing—or as part of a complete, filling plate. This focus on delicious, protein-rich centerpieces, often served with traditional sides, firmly places Pio Pio De Ossining in the "Comfort food" category.
In addition to the popular roasted chicken, patrons are highly encouraged to "Try their curru soups," suggesting a delightful selection of traditional Ecuadorian soups, which are often rich, thick, and made with a variety of seafood, plantains, or vegetables, making them perfect for a flavorful and warming start to any meal. This blend of classic comfort mains and regional specialties makes it a compelling choice for locals seeking something beyond the standard American fare.
The restaurant operates a comprehensive schedule, serving patrons throughout the day and well into the evening. One customer review indicated extensive operational hours: "They serve Breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 5 am to 12pm and they deliver." April 23 · Virginia BenedictThe food I give a 4 stars...Service wasn't great. They took long to serve the meal.. on the menu, my order had everything I liked.. When I got the food, I did not get what was on the menu. I had to complain..Lastly when I came in, they place had a smell of old food.. I will not be going there again..
May 28 · Nebbi Jerez$16 for half a chicken. It tasted like it was rotten. Their menu says $12
June 09 · Xavier MontenegroI will not buy from this place again. I ordered takeout chicken thinking it was a Peruvian restaurant, since it copied the name of the NYC restaurant chain. The chicken was cold, and the girl who delivered it didn't cut it; she handed it to me whole and forced it into a box it didn't fit in; it was simply poorly packaged. She also asked me for $17, but when I checked the transaction in my bank account, it came out to $19.25. Adding the 8% sales tax ($1.36), they should have charged $18.36. If they charged more for using a debit card, it would be a clear violation of General Business Law §518: NY Law Related to Credit and Debit Card Surcharges, which prohibits charging more for card use. Not a recommended place. The chicken is also nothing special. The seasoning is basic.
July 24 · Harold GutiérrezIn this place they are thieves as you can see their prices say one thing and when they charge you they charge you much more I ordered an order of steak $12Plus 1 order lomo saltado $12 1 order french wing breast $12 an order chicken wings of 7p $9.99 plus 1 soda total should be less than $50 but they charged us $62 when we called they said that their prices changed but these are the menus that they give you, well their menu does not have the current prices when I asked why they don't update them they only said that if you want to report them to a government agency you should do it. So before buying here ask for the current prices so you don't get fooled.
